?In this interview, President of Tsinghua University, Qiu Yong, elaborates on the challenges that have emerged for higher education institutions?in 2020.
Professor Qiu notes that these challenges, however, for him, represent a renewal of hope. He believes that as a result of the changes made in the face of these challenges, universities will be able to more easily surpass the limitations that had previously stifled their growth?and expansion.?
He argues?that?post-pandemic universities will change predominantly in three ways as universities will be more open and integrative, more student-driven, smarter and more inclusive.?
He is optimistic about the future of higher education, particularly the worldwide collaborative efforts aimed at solving global challenges.?
