World University Rankings 2022 by subject: psychology
The psychology subject table uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the?Times Higher Education?World University Rankings 2022, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the discipline.
It highlights the universities that are leading across several areas of psychology, including educational, sport, business, animal and clinical psychology.
This year¡¯s table includes 568 universities, up from 533 last year.

The UK¡¯s University of Cambridge makes its debut in the psychology ranking in 2022 and claims the top spot, after meeting the eligibility criteria for the first time. Stanford University previously led the table since its inception in 2018.
Elsewhere, Germany¡¯s LMU Munich (27th) and Australia¡¯s UNSW Sydney (29th) rank in the top 30 for the first time. Japan¡¯s Kyoto University (99th) achieves Japan¡¯s first top 100 finish in psychology, after climbing 25 places since last year¡¯s ranking. This takes the total number of countries and regions represented in the top 100 to 18.
