World University Rankings 2023 by subject: psychology
The psychology subject table uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the discipline.
It highlights the universities that are leading across several areas of psychology, including educational, sport, business, animal and clinical psychology.
This year¡¯s table includes 600 universities, up from 568 last year.

Stanford University in the US had led the table almost every year since its inception in 2018, and it regained the top spot?after having slipped into?second last year.
Although the UK and the US continue to score highly throughout the rankings, Germany has widely improved. Its Ruhr University Bochum has risen at least 16 places to 85 from the 101-125 band; University of Konstanz at least 28, to 98 from 126-150; and Leuphana University of L¨¹neburg is a newcomer?to the 101-125 category.
Other countries with new representation in the top 200 include the US, Sweden, Cyprus and Qatar. Respectively, Purdue University West Lafayette is now in the 101-125 band, Virginia Commonwealth University is in the 301-400 band; J?nk?ping University is in the 176-200 category; and the University of Nicosia and Qatar University both sit among the 251-300 band.
