institution

Abat Oliba CEU University, a private university located in Barcelona, Spain, is one of the campuses of CEU Universities.

It first began to offer classes as a part of an affiliation with the University of Barcelona as CDES Abat Oliba in 1974 and moved on to offer its own degrees in Law, Business Administration, Management and Economics in 1995. The Parliament of Catalonia recognized Abat Oliba CEU University as an official private university in 2003. Named after Abat Oliba, Count of Berga and Ripoll, bishop of Vic and founder of Montserrat, the university's principles are based on the ideals of Christian Humanism and the institution aims to serve the Catalan society along these lines.

While the official language of the university is Spanish, their commitment to multingualism is key to solid training in languages and consolidated communicative skills.
In 2017, Abat Oliba was granted a UNESCO Chair, which helps reinforce higher education institutions worldwide to bridge the knowledge gap, mobilise university expertise and collaborate on the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030. It has over 100 agreements with universities in more than 25 countries and 4,000 internship agreements with national and international companies.

The university is located on Carrer de Bellesguard in the Sarri¨¤-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona. The street is also home to a viaduct designed by Antoni Gaudi.
