	Be the workstream lead to plan and deliver the roll out of secure up to date laptops and desktops.

	Work with dedicated technicians and their managers to ensure the delivery of the project has a minimal impact on BAU activities.
	Champion the project to get buy-in from reluctant stakeholders and endpoint customers.

As a result of our strategic plan and future vision, the School of Veterinary Medicine in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is recruiting an exceptional person to the following full-time academic position to continue to add to the successes that the School, Faculty, and University. In particular, this role will enhance our 100 strong team of teaching and research staff in the School of Veterinary Medicine.

The role

We are currently seeking applications from exceptional individuals with expertise ranging from molecular & cellular sciences to clinical sciences to deliver our ambitions to expand and develop the Faculty’s research strategy within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The post holder will be working within the One Health Cardiology Research Group led by Prof Kamalan Jeevaratnam reporting to Head of Discipline (Comparative Biomedical Sc) and Prof Jeevaratnam. Additionally, there will be an expectation to be involved in working together with other members of the department to drive the ‘One Health-One Medicine’ research strategy for non-communicable disease research.

We have appointed several individuals in the field of cardiovascular research (clinical and basic scientists), musculoskeletal biology, and tissue engineering as part of the departmental research focus. It is envisaged that the successful candidate’s expertise ideally should fit with or compliment these areas of research but not necessarily overlap. We are keen to appoint a candidate (i) that will bring synergistic expertise but with a focus on electrophysiological expertise (ii) who’s research portfolio will benefit from existing expertise within the department.

The post holder in expected to work collaboratively with Prof Jeevaratnam in bid submissions and also pursue an independent research portfolio that is supported by external funding and evidenced by high quality publication.

There will be an expectation to contribute to the teaching of preclinical sciences (e.g. genetics, physiology, molecular biology, cellular sciences etc) at postgraduate and undergraduate level and selected subject in the later years of the veterinary medicine programme.

About you

You will have a PhD in a related field and prior solid postdoctoral research experience with key outputs in cardiac electrophysiology. Evidence of collaborative research network locally and internationally is essential. Candidates with a degree registrable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or the General Medical Council are particularly welcomed but not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to play a leading role in helping shape the department cardiac electrophysiology research programme as well as deliver on an innovative curriculum. Individuals with fellowship positions or successful bids are desirable but not essential.

Position Overview

As a full-time position – Assistant Professor, you will be responsible for working as part of a team to develop and teach modules in Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) of the undergraduate MBBS program using cutting-edge pedagogical methods. As a full-time member you must have a deep commitment to excellence in teaching and broad expertise in medical Physiology, and other foundational health sciences. You will be expected to teach and assess BMS modules and participate in the development and the effective implementation of Basic Medical Sciences modules for undergraduate students.

?Academic Responsibilities


	Develop syllabi, modules, learning objectives, student assessments, case studies, simulations, problem-solving activities, and classroom activities for BMS modules?
	Write and oversee the preparation and delivery of examinations in the foundational health sciences and assume responsibility for timely reporting of student grades to the Chair?

ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt is seeking to fill a university professorship (W3) for Forming Technology as soon as possible. The importance of forming technology is increas-ing in the context of the growing demand for resource-efficient products. New manufacturing technologies must enable both material-efficient and multifunctional components. This requires innovations that not only consider individual manufacturing technologies but also the interlocking of technologies in novel process chains. The increasing customisation of products also requires flexible and autonomous machine concepts that not only increase productivity but also counteract the shortage of skilled workers.

In addition to forming technology as a core technology, the professorship’s research should also include other manufacturing technologies in the sense of a comprehensive process chain approach. We are looking for a scien-tist with an international reputation and visibility who represents the field of forming technology in research and teaching.

YOUR TASKS

To strengthen our research activities, we are looking for a person with excellent scientific credentials in the field of forming technology and relevant experience in one or more of the following key research areas:


	Production process chains for multifunctional components (e.g. innovative sheet metal process chain)
	Technology development for products with material diversity (multi-material components)
	Automated and autonomous machine systems and components
	Machine development and machine design


We expect a willingness for national and international co-operation and interdisciplinary work both within the department and with other departments and research institutions.

The professorship should also represent the field of forming technology in teaching and also participate in overar-ching courses in the department.

YOUR PROFILE

A degree in engineering or natural sciences followed by a qualified doctorate, internationally recognised research achievements, habilitation or equivalent, experience in acquiring third-party funding, didactic and pedagogical aptitude, leadership experience and a willingness to participate in academic self-administration are required. Several years of practical experience in industry in the fields of manufacturing technologies and production machinery are considered highly advantageous.

As part of the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main metropolitan region, TU Darmstadt and its surroundings are characterised by an international outlook. A core element of this is a cosmopolitan climate with functional multilingualism at our university. Therefore, very good English and – after three years at the latest – good German language skills are expected.
