Ahram Canadian University is based in 6th October City, a desert satellite development located between the pyramids of Giza and the Cairo metropolitan area.
It was created in 2005.
Its distinctive identity is celebrated in maple-leaf branding, which acknowledges the advice and guidance provided by Canadian universities including McMaster, Alberta, Carleton and Montreal and a commitment to "meeting Egyptian and Canadian educational standards".
Beginning with faculties of pharmacy, business administration, computer science and mass communication, it has diversified by stages. Dentistry began in 2013 and engineering the year after, followed by languages and translation, design and innovative arts and physiotherapy in 2019 and there are plans for medicine, nursing and biotechnology. Pharmacy and mass communication graduate programmes have been offered since 2021.
Among the most significant local relationships is between the Faculty of Pharmacy and the 57357 Children*s Cancer Hospital through events such as blood donation drives.
The relationship with Canada remains fundamental and was further strengthened by the launch ofthe university's first double degree in business education with Sheridan University in 2023.
Japanese language classes started in 2020 and Soka University is among its newest partners.
