Universit¨¦ Akli Mohand Oulhadj ¨C Bouira traces its history back to 2001 when it was established as part of the Bougherra Mohammed University of Boumerdes in Bouira. In 2005, it became an independent academic centre with the addition of new specializations in economics, business, and management sciences. The centre attained full university status in 2012 and became Universit¨¦ Akli Mohand Oulhadj ¨C Bouira.
Situated in Bouira, a city in north-central Algeria, it is known for its role as a market centre for a low-yield olive and cereal-producing area.
The university comprises six faculties, each housing various departments offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. Additionally, two institutes contribute to the institution's academic offerings.
