Al-Qalam University, formerly known as Katsina University, is located in Dutsinma Road, Katsina State, Nigeria. Established in 2005, it holds the distinction of being Nigeria's first private Islamic institution.
The university includes six schools/colleges, each offering a range of undergraduate, master's, and PhD programmes accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The College of Humanities provides programmes in Hausa language, Arabic, English language, and Islamic studies. The College of Natural & Applied Sciences offers courses in biological science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science.
The College of Education offers various B.A./Ed programmes in Arabic, Hausa, Islamic studies, English language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and geography. The College of Social & Management Sciences provides BSc. programmes in accounting, business administration, economics, political science, and sociology, available in both part-time and full-time formats.
The College of Post Graduate Studies offers M.A. programmes in Arabic, Islamic studies, English, and MBA, as well as MSc. programmes in accounting, business administration, computer science, economics, mathematics, political science, and sociology. it also offers PhD programmes in various fields.
The School of Basic & Remedial Studies offers remedial, IJMB (interim joint matriculation board), and pre-degree programmes to prepare students for their academic journey.
