Established in 1997, Amman Arab University is based in Amman, Jordan, specialising originally in just postgraduate programmes for masters and doctoral degrees. In 2009, the university began to offer undergraduate programmes.
The university is located on Jordan Street in the Mobes region, just 12km north of the capital, Amman, the capital and largest city of Jordan.
The university currently consists of nine colleges: educational and psychological sciences, business school, law, computer sciences and informatics, arts and sciences, engineering, Pharmacy, Aviation Sciences and Sharia.
Amman Arab University has established relationships with universities around the world, carrying out various exchange activities such as academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and the opportunity for students to study abroad. Partner universities include the University of Sunderland (United Kingdom), University of Zakho (Iraq) and Koya University (Iraq).
