Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

You will engage with students and staff across the University of Waikato to enhance the quality of teaching and learning through innovation and change. This is a unique opportunity working within a multi-disciplinary centre that encompasses a large and varied scope across our multifaceted organisation.

You will be comfortable managing complex portfolios, high-performing teams, and time-constrained priorities, as this role has it all. From professional development design, implementation, and delivery to programme expansion, you will explore new ideas to combat the current challenges of the tertiary education landscape.

As a strategic leader, you will be passionate about developing and designing the curriculum for domestic and international partnerships and research opportunities aligned with the University's strategy. Using your experience in tertiary education, you will lead curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment design, including learning and teaching technologies (artificial intelligence), which encompasses research projects in the scholarship of learning and teaching.

Drawing on your previous experience in an educational management role, you will have an understanding of Kaupapa Māori and Pacific pedagogies, recognize the varied needs of students (learner styles and analytics), and ensure that students and staff develop their professional and academic English language skills.

We are looking for someone who holds a PhD in a relevant field, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

The Institute for Labour and Social Law is one of the leading teaching and research institutions in Austria dealing with central problems of Austrian and European labour law and law of social security. We are looking for a prae doc assistant (KV Verwendungsgruppe: B1) to support the team of Univ.-Prof. Dr Elisabeth Brameshuber. The employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is then automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-extension within the first 12 months.

Your personal sphere of influence:

As a University Assistant Praedoc you will complete the research team of Univ.-Prof- Mag. Dr. Elisabeth Brameshuber in the field of labour law and social security law. Besides your own research activities, you will take on tasks such as independent and supportive teaching of courses and examinations, supervision of students and support regarding research, organisational and administrative tasks.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	You will work on and finalise your dissertation.?We expect you to finalise your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
	You will teach courses independently to the extent required by the collective agreement.
	You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
	You will be involved in organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures.
	You will take care of the continuation and support of international co-operations


This is part of your personality:


	Completed Master's/Diploma degree in the field of law
	Excellent knowledge of labour and social law (proven, for example, by a corresponding seminar paper or diploma thesis/master's thesis) or related fields of law (in particular civil?European and constitutional law)

The Strategic Outreach and Marketing Officer in the Admissions and Student Recruitment Office at Maynooth University will play a key role in enhancing the University’s brand presence, expanding domestic outreach, and supporting student recruitment objectives through innovative and data-driven marketing and engagement strategies. Reporting to the Undergraduate (UG) Student Recruitment Manager, the Officer will contribute to the University’s strategic growth by leading initiatives across schools, colleges of further education, and career exhibitions.

They will be responsible for supporting the Undergraduate Student Recruitment Manager in creating and executing a strategic recruitment plan for domestic growth. This includes developing targeted outreach and marketing campaigns that enhance the University’s presence in schools, colleges of further education, and career exhibitions. The Officer will lead the Schools Liaison programme (including the School Visits and Career Exhibition calendar), ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic objectives and effective execution of recruitment initiatives across key regions. They will coordinate a comprehensive calendar of events, identifying opportunities to strengthen engagement and strategically target areas for growth.

In addition to event and programme coordination, the Officer will use historical data to design and refine recruitment strategies, tracking outcomes to enhance impact. They will also collaborate closely with the Communications and Marketing Office and external agencies to manage annual undergraduate recruitment campaigns. Relationship-building with external stakeholders, including schools and guidance counselors, is a critical part of the role, as is overseeing key outreach activities such as career fairs and the schools outreach programme.

This dynamic role requires a highly organised, strategic thinker with experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement, outreach coordination, and leadership, ideally within the context of education or recruitment. The Schools, Outreach, and Marketing Officer will be a crucial contributor to the University's growth strategy, representing Maynooth University to prospective students and influencers across Ireland.

Salary:

Administrative Officer (2024):? €57,484 – €82,017 p.a. (9 points)

Qualifications


	A PhD degree in Computer Science, Traffic Engineering or related disciplines;?
	A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research and scholarship;
	Demonstrable competence in communication; and
	English is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.


The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
