Bacha Khan University is located in the Charsadda area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It was established in 2012.
The university has two main faculties, science and arts, which offer a wide range of degree programmes to students including: education, botany and zoology, computer science, economics, English language and literature, pharmacy, geology, and more. Across its faculties, Bacha Khan University provides undergraduate, postgraduate and master¡¯s degree programmes.
The university gets its name from Abdul Gaffer Khan, who was the leader of the resistance movement against British colonial rule in India and was nicknamed Bacha Kan, or "King of Chiefs".
The campus is located in the northwestern Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Students are encouraged to live on campus while studying at Bacha Khan, and the university provides hostel accommodation for girls and boys on campus.
