The Department of Accounting and Information Management (DAIM) at Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) invites applications for the position of Full Professor in Business Intelligence and Analytics (Information Systems).

FBA is one of the largest faculties in the University and a well-established full-service business faculty with AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS accreditations. DAIM has a fast-growing group in business intelligence and analytics. Our faculty members in this group have published in top journals (e.g. Information Systems Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Accounting Research, Operations Research, Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Annals of Statistics, JASA, Journal of Econometrics, JBES, Nature Communications). The Department provides its faculty members with excellent research support including a start-up research grant, reasonable teaching load, and state-of-the-art facilities. The Department aims to build a stronger team of business intelligence and analytics scholars in the coming years. Hence, we are conducting a global recruitment of Full Professor in Business Intelligence and Analytics (Information Systems).

Qualifications

As part of its strategic development, FBA is conducting a global recruitment of Full Professor in Business Intelligence and Analytics (Information Systems). Applicants should (1) be an established scholar with a doctoral degree in the field of Business Intelligence and Analytics (including Information Systems and other closely related disciplines); (2) have a well-established track record of research excellence substantiated by publication in top-tier journals, and a strong commitment to mentoring junior researchers; and (3) have the ability to teach any undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in Business Intelligence and Analytics.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty by August 2025.

Remuneration

The remuneration is commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant and Food Research) and disciplines, leading a 'NZ Inc' approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food industry.

We are seeking a high-achieving Senior Research Officer to work as part of the Sustainable Nutrition Initiative? team. The role will contribute to multiple projects, most notably food system modelling contributing to open access national models incorporating nutrition.

A primary focus for this key position will be to develop a model for the Kenyan food system. This involves synthesising data to create an interactive food system scenario model, in collaboration with our international partners. Strong relationship building skills and a willingness to travel to Kenya as part of the role will be required.

As the successful candidate you will have completed a PhD in mathematics, statistics, data science, nutrition, food, or agriculture, ideally with demonstrated expertise in modelling and nutrition datasets. You will also demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as high motivation and enthusiasm to work with an interdisciplinary team.

The salary will be commensurate with experience and will be in the range of Senior Research Officer ($101,724 - $143,948 NZD) for a full-time (37.5h p/w), fixed-term period of three years located in Palmerston North.

The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree programme includes areas of classical, modern and contemporary Chinese literature, Chinese language and linguistics, comparative literature and literary theories, as well as media, news and creative writing. The Department of Chinese will make a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in digital humanities and premodern/modern Chinese literature. The Department particularly wishes to hire a high-powered researcher who has a solid track record in grant writing and publishing in respectable venues.

Responsibilities

The appointee will teach mainly in the areas of premodern and modern literature and culture, with prominent digital humanities component, and are also expected to contribute to the Department’s various research and teaching initiatives, including the enhancement of its two major journals: Prism: Theory and Modern Chinese Literature published by Duke University Press and the Lingnan Journal of Chinese Studies 嶺南學報 published by Shanghai guji chubanshe.

Requirements
