You will engage with students and staff across the University of Waikato to enhance the quality of teaching and learning through innovation and change. This is a unique opportunity working within a multi-disciplinary centre that encompasses a large and varied scope across our multifaceted organisation.

You will be comfortable managing complex portfolios, high-performing teams, and time-constrained priorities, as this role has it all. From professional development design, implementation, and delivery to programme expansion, you will explore new ideas to combat the current challenges of the tertiary education landscape.

As a strategic leader, you will be passionate about developing and designing the curriculum for domestic and international partnerships and research opportunities aligned with the University's strategy. Using your experience in tertiary education, you will lead curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment design, including learning and teaching technologies (artificial intelligence), which encompasses research projects in the scholarship of learning and teaching.

Drawing on your previous experience in an educational management role, you will have an understanding of Kaupapa Māori and Pacific pedagogies, recognize the varied needs of students (learner styles and analytics), and ensure that students and staff develop their professional and academic English language skills.

We are looking for someone who holds a PhD in a relevant field, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full Professor of Portuguese Literature. The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation. At the undergraduate level, the Department also teaches Portuguese language within the Faculty of Law and offers elective courses in Portuguese as a foreign language to students from all faculties of the University. At the postgraduate level, the Department offers two Master programmes (i) Portuguese Language and Intercultural Studies; (ii) Translation Studies (Portuguese-Chinese), as well as one PhD programme covering different topics of Portuguese Studies.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD and, preferably any higher degree or habilitation, in Portuguese Literature or related areas. Excellent record of academic publications and scientific research in Portuguese Literature, strong evidence of influential participation in the internationally most reputed academic circles of Portuguese Studies, and outstanding experience in teaching/research in Higher Education Institutions are fundamental requirements for this position. Applicants should also demonstrate clear, consistent ideas about their future leading role in the field of Portuguese Literature within the academic framework of the University of Macau. They should be native speakers of Portuguese or have a native-like command of the language. A good command of English and good communicational skills are also required.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The faculty Bursar of the MU Faculty of Medicine announces a?selection procedure for the position of Postdoc in?The Biology of Primary Cilia Signaling?at the Department of Biology, MED MUNI

Description of the lab

Primary cilia are organelles with important functions in cellular signaling, morphogenesis and homeostasis. Mutations in genes that regulate cilia architecture or function result in disorders called ciliopathies. The ciliopathies comprise developmental syndromes, and also postnatal homeostatic disorders including cancer.?In the research lab of Dr. Michaela Bosakova?we focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms by which cilia are formed and used by protein kinases and signaling pathways (published work). Our ultimate goal is to comprehend the pathogenesis of selected ciliopathies, and contribute to development of their therapies.

The project and responsibilities

The selected applicant will lead a?project that aims to target ciliary signaling in glioblastoma, which is one of the deadliest cancers with very limited treatment options. The approaches used in the project will comprise mainly establishment of primary cultures, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, cell and tissue imaging, and cell signaling experiments. Beyond the research tools and technology available in the lab and the hosting department, they will have access to the state-of-the-art instrumentation and services at the MUNI University campus core facilities. They will also participate in projects of other group members, including PhD and master students.

Qualifications:


	PhD degree in the field of cell biology or similar
	Significant, published experience with primary cilia research and/or cell signaling
	Hands-on experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing is a?great advantage
	Ability to work independently allied with a?strong team spirit, scientific creativity, and motivation
	Good communication in English

About the Role?

Under the direction of the Dean of Programs (UniSA College), the Aboriginal Pathway (AP) Program Regional Tutor is responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning experiences for students enrolled into AP programs in the regions.

The AP Program Regional Tutor will contribute to student support as well as quality assurance and improvement. The AP Program Regional Tutor plays a role in the growth of the AP programs through promoting and representing the AP programs within and external to the University and for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with external stakeholders and communities.

The program is delivered in four regional areas of South Australia (Ceduna, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and Mount Gambier) and was introduced into metropolitan Adelaide (at the City West campus) in 2018. The program is offered to eligible Aboriginal peoples with no tuition fees incurred by the student. After an initial 3 year delivery period, with the successful enrolment and completion numbers of students completing the program and subsequently transitioning into their chosen undergraduate degree. ?

Core Responsibilities


	Deliver teaching materials and ongoing tutorial support for students by implementing appropriate teaching approaches including face to face, online and blended learning, to promote student learning and engagement
	Engage in student consultation to provide local learning support for students to assist retention and success, and direct students at risk to the Program Director: APP and Regions for academic counselling
	Participate in marking and grade moderation as part of quality assurance
	Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Program Director: APP and Regions, implement strategies to ensure the programs meet the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders including students, the university, and community
	Liaise with Pastoral Care Support Officer and Wirringka Student Services to ensure Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance (ATP) tutoring is provided in a timely, efficient and effective manner
