Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University was first founded as a teacher training institution but then became a multi-disciplinary university in 2009.
The university has faculties in economics and management; health, physical education and sports; musical art and choreography; pedagogical education; psychology, social work and special education; oriental languages; Ukrainian philology, culture and art; journalism; information technologies and mathematics; fine arts and design; law and international relations; Romance and Germanic philology and social sciences and humanities.
The main language of instruction is Ukrainian. The university offers some classes in English and has plans to develop more English-language courses.
