Cavite State University can trace its roots back to the foundation of Indang International School by American educators in 1906. By 1964 it had evolved into Don Severino Agricultural College, and then became Cavite State University in 1998.

The Don Severino campus in Indang remains its headquarters, but there are also a number of satellite campuses distributed across the state ¨C Desmarinas, the 10th, was opened in 2023.
Students can study a range of subjects including management, education, information technology, arts and science, criminal justice, nursing, sport and physical education, agriculture, the graduate school, veterinary medicine and the medical school.
The hosts the National Coffee Research Centre and produces its own Don Severino Aguinaldo Blend brand
