Chiang Mai Rajabhat University is located in northern Thailand. It was founded in 1924 and began by specialising in agricultural teacher training. In 2004, it gained its current name after the king granted the use of his Royal Crest as the university*s emblem.
The four campuses that make up the university are Wiang Bua in the centre of Chiang Mai; Mae Sa; Mae Rim; and Mae Hong Son Campus. Across the university, there are five main faculties of study, including education, humanities and social science, science and technology, management Science and agricultural technology.
Chiang Mai city is also famous for its Thai festivals, including the Loi Krathong which celebrates the full moon in November. Locals will float banana leaf containers decorated with flowers and candles down the city*s waterways and release sky lanterns.
