The Riddet Institute is a world-best research centre in food and nutritional sciences, providing fundamental scientific understanding and training for a new generation of science leaders. The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant and Food Research) and disciplines, leading a 'NZ Inc' approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food industry.

We are seeking a high-achieving Senior Research Officer to work as part of the Sustainable Nutrition Initiative? team. The role will contribute to multiple projects, most notably food system modelling contributing to open access national models incorporating nutrition.

A primary focus for this key position will be to develop a model for the Kenyan food system. This involves synthesising data to create an interactive food system scenario model, in collaboration with our international partners. Strong relationship building skills and a willingness to travel to Kenya as part of the role will be required.

As the successful candidate you will have completed a PhD in mathematics, statistics, data science, nutrition, food, or agriculture, ideally with demonstrated expertise in modelling and nutrition datasets. You will also demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as high motivation and enthusiasm to work with an interdisciplinary team.

The salary will be commensurate with experience and will be in the range of Senior Research Officer ($101,724 - $143,948 NZD) for a full-time (37.5h p/w), fixed-term period of three years located in Palmerston North.

About School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

Our school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Industrial Design, Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering, integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical training. About the role

We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to join our team as a Associate Professor in Industrial Design. This pivotal role involves leading all Industrial Design programs, fostering research and teaching connections with Architecture, and promoting multi-disciplinary collaboration across the school, including Construction Management, Engineering, and Urban Transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Architecture and Design and the DAP of Architecture and Industrial Design to enhance the program’s positioning, attract key staff and students, and drive the growth of Industrial Design research. Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. About the role

As a Research Fellow you will be part of an international interdisciplinary and multi-institutional research team in the area of One Health. You will be part of a multi-state research project implementing community-based mental wellbeing and disaster preparedness programs in natural hazard-prone rural communities across NSW, SA and WA. The project will also assess longer-term mental health outcomes of rural Australians. This project will critically contribute to rural health, disaster preparedness, and protecting mental health and wellbeing in the face of climate change. Your role will include supporting the establishment and implementation of the research project, overseeing data collection, contributing to quantitative, qualitative and/or longitudinal data analysis, and preparation of publications, reports and conference presentations. You will work independently under guidance of the chief investigator team, and in collaboration with the trial coordinator and research assistants, and help to supervise postgraduate or Honours students.

???????The School of Psychology currently has an exciting opportunity for a research fellow within the new One Health research pillar. The School of Psychology at UNE is rated at well above world standard for research across topic areas, with key research streams including Environmental Psychology, and Psychosocial Health and Wellbeing in Rural Communities.

The Psychosocial Health and Wellbeing Research Group comprises academics with a particular focus on understanding the mental health of those living in rural populations, including in response to natural disasters such as drought and fires which particularly impact rural communities. The Environmental Psychology and Climate Change Research Group comprises academic staff and students who are interested in how psychological principles can be applied to understand and help solve problems related to environmental sustainability and helping individuals and communities adapt to climate change. Projects examine the impacts of climate change and resultant natural hazards such as fire, flood, cyclones and drought on health and wellbeing. Research projects also focus on how to build resilient individuals and communities, including through interventions to support the well-being of those affected by natural hazards and climate anxiety.
