Basic information and contact details for Dankook University

Danook University was founded in 1948 with 960 students.

It moved to a new campus in the Hannam district of Seoul in 1957, attained university status in 1967 and added a further campus at Cheonan, south of Seoul, in 1978. In the late 1990s it moved from Hannam to a purpose-built campus at Jukjeon, also south of Seoul.

The Jukjeon campus accommodates the colleges of law, humanities, social science, finance and economics, engineering, software convergence, education, music and arts, and liberal arts.

The Cheonan campus houses the colleges of foreign languages, science and technology, bio-convergence, arts, sports science, medicine, public service, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and health sciences. 

Recent development has been in medicine and associated disciplines. New courses include physical therapy, and dental hygiene. The university hospital, opened in 1994 with 800 beds, is the largest cancer centre in Central Korea.
