The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (University of Macau) invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor, who will also be a joint faculty member in the Faculty of Science and Technology, in the following disciplines:


	IoT infrastructure and devices (sensors, embedded systems, etc.)

State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (University of Macau) - SKL-IOTSC

The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (University of Macau) is expected to promote smart city development in prospective of IoT, Big Data Technology and Engineering in Macao and inject a fresh impetus to the development of the Greater Bay Area by enhancing research and training in the field and providing technical support plans for improving economic performance, people’s quality of life, and social management. Faculty of Science and Technology - FST

Faculty of Science and Technology aims to provide programmes for undergraduate and graduate education with quality reaching international standard. It strives to become a research active unit advancing the knowledge of engineering and science, and serves the community and industry as an agent of technological innovation and educational advancement. Currently, about 90 faculty members from diverse international backgrounds serve in this faculty. Qualifications


	A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related disciplines;?
	A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research and scholarship;
	Demonstrable competence in communication; and
	English is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.


The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. About School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

Our school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Industrial Design, Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering, integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical training. We conduct world-leading research in Sustainability and Resilience, Design & Digitalisation, and Industrialisation & Materials, supported by seven research groups and three research centres. About the role

We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to join our team as a Associate Professor in Industrial Design. This pivotal role involves leading all Industrial Design programs, fostering research and teaching connections with Architecture, and promoting multi-disciplinary collaboration across the school, including Construction Management, Engineering, and Urban Transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Architecture and Design and the DAP of Architecture and Industrial Design to enhance the program’s positioning, attract key staff and students, and drive the growth of Industrial Design research. Additionally, this role will play a crucial part in establishing an interdisciplinary Design research program that leverages the strategic potential of Western Sydney and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The ideal candidate will make distinguished contributions to scholarship, research, and teaching, providing significant leadership within the School.

About You

The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Design or a related field, coupled with outstanding professional experience and highly regarded research in industrial and/or multi-disciplinary design fields. They will be an accomplished Industrial Designer with significant global achievements and a proven track record of providing professional leadership and advice. Experience in leading curriculum accreditation with relevant professional bodies is essential. The candidate will demonstrate leadership and innovation in contemporary curriculum design, development, delivery, and assessment, with evidence of teaching quality and successful supervision of Masters and PhD candidates. An internationally competitive research profile, evidenced by substantial research funding, high-quality scholarly publications, and impactful research outcomes, is required.

The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full Professor of Portuguese Literature. The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation. At the undergraduate level, the Department also teaches Portuguese language within the Faculty of Law and offers elective courses in Portuguese as a foreign language to students from all faculties of the University. At the postgraduate level, the Department offers two Master programmes (i) Portuguese Language and Intercultural Studies; (ii) Translation Studies (Portuguese-Chinese), as well as one PhD programme covering different topics of Portuguese Studies.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD and, preferably any higher degree or habilitation, in Portuguese Literature or related areas. Excellent record of academic publications and scientific research in Portuguese Literature, strong evidence of influential participation in the internationally most reputed academic circles of Portuguese Studies, and outstanding experience in teaching/research in Higher Education Institutions are fundamental requirements for this position. Applicants should also demonstrate clear, consistent ideas about their future leading role in the field of Portuguese Literature within the academic framework of the University of Macau.
