About the Role?

Under the direction of the Dean of Programs (UniSA College), the Aboriginal Pathway (AP) Program Regional Tutor is responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning experiences for students enrolled into AP programs in the regions.

The AP Program Regional Tutor will contribute to student support as well as quality assurance and improvement. The AP Program Regional Tutor plays a role in the growth of the AP programs through promoting and representing the AP programs within and external to the University and for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with external stakeholders and communities.

The?Aboriginal Pathway Program?is designed and tailored for Aboriginal students to develop the skills necessary for successful tertiary study leading to entry into UniSA degrees. The program is delivered in four regional areas of South Australia (Ceduna, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and Mount Gambier) and was introduced into metropolitan Adelaide (at the City West campus) in 2018. The program is offered to eligible Aboriginal peoples with no tuition fees incurred by the student. After an initial 3 year delivery period, with the successful enrolment and completion numbers of students completing the program and subsequently transitioning into their chosen undergraduate degree. ?

Core Responsibilities


	Deliver teaching materials and ongoing tutorial support for students by implementing appropriate teaching approaches including face to face, online and blended learning, to promote student learning and engagement
	Engage in student consultation to provide local learning support for students to assist retention and success, and direct students at risk to the Program Director: APP and Regions for academic counselling
	Participate in marking and grade moderation as part of quality assurance
	Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Program Director: APP and Regions, implement strategies to ensure the programs meet the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders including students, the university, and community
	Liaise with Pastoral Care Support Officer and Wirringka Student Services to ensure Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance (ATP) tutoring is provided in a timely, efficient and effective manner


Essential Skills and Experience


	Relevant tertiary qualifications
	A sound understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking enabling courses
	A passion for and commitment to equity, high level teaching and continuous improvement in enabling education and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development around teaching
	Demonstrated ability and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies including familiarity with online tools and Learning Management Systems, grade moderation and student consultation
	Demonstrated understanding of the challenges associated with geographically distributed teams, and an ability to adopt a problem-solving approach to effective program delivery

The faculty Bursar of the MU Faculty of Medicine announces a?selection procedure for the position of Postdoc in?The Novel Mechanisms in Skeletogenesis?at the Department of Biology, MED MUNI

The project and responsibilities

The bone formation and skeletogenesis are complex processes many aspects of which are not understood. In order to produce treatments for developmental and aging bone disorders, we need to uncover molecular mechanisms that are involved. The selected applicant will lead a?project on mechanisms GRK2 kinase uses to produce and maintain healthy skeleton. This project will involve conditional mouse models, ex-vivo explants and cellular models; the approaches will comprise mainly morphological and histological analysis of the mouse skeletal tissues, establishment of primary cultures, and cell signaling experiments. Beyond the research tools and technology available in the lab and the hosting department, they will have access to the state-of-the-art instrumentation and services at the MUNI University campus core facilities. They will also participate in projects of other group members, including PhD and master students.

Qualifications:

As a university assistant prae-doc, you will join the research team of Prof. Yavuz K?se in the Department of Near Eastern Studies. As a center for the study of the Near and Middle East, including North Africa, the institute is not merely the only institution of its kind in Austria, but is also one of the largest such institutes in central Europe. Third-party funded projects and teaching concentrates on Ancient Near Eastern Studies (Assyriology), Near Eastern Archaeology, Arabic Studies, Islamic Studies, and Turkish Studies with special emphasis on Ottoman Studies and research on contemporary Turkey.?The employment duration is?3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a declaration of non-extension.
