The Ecole Normale Sup¨¦rieure El Katiba Assia Djebar Constantine, or ENSC, was established in 1981, and has gained a strong reputation for its commitment to quality training and professionalism among its teachers.

The primary mission of ENSC is to train future teachers, foster pedagogical development and engage in scientific research. ENSC trains teachers for the Ministry of National Education (MEN) in various fields, including mathematics, computer science, physics and chemistry, natural sciences, Arabic literature and language, French, English, philosophy and history-geography. The training programmes are divided into three levels: Secondary Education Teachers "PES," Teachers of Middle Education "PEM," and Teachers of Primary Education "PEP."

The university has also expanded into other areas, such as distance learning, post-graduation programmes and research initiatives on a national and international scale. External relations are a key strategic priority for the school, leading to collaborations with national and international schools and universities. One of the strengths of ENSC is in the diverse social and cultural backgrounds of its students, which contributes to a rich and positive learning environment. The teaching staff is equally diverse, boasting a wide range of specialties, research interests and professional experiences.

The school supports an active student social life and regularly coordinates student associations and clubs, encouraging students to take part in sports, cultural events and leisure activities. This helps to create a sense of community, and encourages personal growth and development.

The school's library provides students with services to support academic and research activities. The library is organised across five floors, with distinct sections for different subjects and languages.
