The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna is an innovative and future-orientated faculty. Based on a strong disciplinary core, the broad range of subjects at the University of Vienna opens up many opportunities for modern computer science, which is increasingly entering application areas at the interfaces to the natural sciences, economics, medicine, social sciences and humanities.

Your workplace:

As a Senior Lecturer, you will be employed in the field of programming languages. You will primarily organise and lead introductory and in-depth courses in the areas of programming as well as concepts and theoretical foundations of programming languages.

The position can also be filled on a part-time basis (20 hours/week).

The employment level of 40 hours/week includes an average teaching commitment of 14 semester hours per week of academic teaching, with an employment level of 20 hours/week an average of 7 semester hours per week of academic teaching.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in scientific teaching, research & administration, which means:


	You will independently lead courses at Bachelor's and Master's level, develop them in line with the current state of research and coordinate their content with the other courses in the curricula.
	You will make an active contribution to the (further) development of course and examination formats, help to determine the requirements for the necessary technical infrastructure and coordinate these with the relevant bodies.
	We expect from you the ongoing reception of the current state of science as well as continuing didactic training.
	In addition, the assumption of administrative tasks, especially in the administration of teaching, is part of the job profile.

	Completed doctorate in the field of computer science/business informatics
	Several years of independent teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution
	Enthusiasm for the transfer of knowledge and for university teaching

	Practical (professional) experience in larger software development projects

About the Role

The Lecturer in Paramedicine will play a pivotal role in advancing teaching and learning within the Bachelor of Paramedicine programs at the College of Medicine and Public Health. The successful candidate will independently enhance the educational experience by integrating innovative teaching practices and technologies, ensuring the highest standards of excellence in both instruction and the scholarship of teaching.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Clinical qualifications in paramedicine and current registration (or ability to obtain) with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (PBA)/AHPRA
	Experience with teaching and learning at a tertiary level and/or in an appropriate workplace setting, inclusive of simulation
	Good understanding of context appropriate assessment techniques and capacity to provide constructive feedback and evidence of a student-centred approach
	The ability to obtain and maintain an authority to practice as a paramedic with SA Ambulance Service or St John Ambulance NT
	Experience or capability to engage with students (and deliver teaching modules) via online learning platforms
	Successful and independent innovation in learning and teaching delivery or design, including use of e-learning technologies.


Level C

About the Role

The Senior Lecturer will take on a leadership role in fostering excellence in teaching and learning across the Paramedicine curriculum within the College of Medicine and Public Health. This position entails making substantial contributions to both teaching leadership and the scholarship of teaching, utilizing innovative practices and technologies to enhance educational outcomes. A deep understanding of contemporary paramedicine clinical practice will be essential. Additionally, the Senior Lecturer will play a vital role in serving the College and University, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic academic environment.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Completion of a PhD and/or qualifications and equivalent clinical experience in paramedicine
	Current registration (or ability to obtain) with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (PBA)
	Significant and sustained evidence of experience with development, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning at a tertiary level and/or in an appropriate workplace setting, inclusive of simulation
	Evidence of application of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline
	The ability to obtain and maintain an authority to practice as a paramedic with SA Ambulance Service or St John Ambulance NT

About School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

Our school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Industrial Design, Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering, integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical training. About the role

We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to join our team as a Associate Professor in Industrial Design. This pivotal role involves leading all Industrial Design programs, fostering research and teaching connections with Architecture, and promoting multi-disciplinary collaboration across the school, including Construction Management, Engineering, and Urban Transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Architecture and Design and the DAP of Architecture and Industrial Design to enhance the program’s positioning, attract key staff and students, and drive the growth of Industrial Design research. Additionally, this role will play a crucial part in establishing an interdisciplinary Design research program that leverages the strategic potential of Western Sydney and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. About You

The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Design or a related field, coupled with outstanding professional experience and highly regarded research in industrial and/or multi-disciplinary design fields. They will be an accomplished Industrial Designer with significant global achievements and a proven track record of providing professional leadership and advice. Experience in leading curriculum accreditation with relevant professional bodies is essential. The candidate will demonstrate leadership and innovation in contemporary curriculum design, development, delivery, and assessment, with evidence of teaching quality and successful supervision of Masters and PhD candidates. The Department of Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London is looking to appoint a lecturer to support its research and teaching. The Department has a record of outstanding research and was ranked 17th overall among UK computer science departments in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021, Times Higher Education ranking). We have very strong research groups in the areas of Intelligent Systems, Machine Learning, Algorithms and Complexity, and Programming Languages and Systems. It has also made recent appointments in Quantum Computing and Software Engineering, and there are strong collaborations with the Information Security Department.

The Department is committed to delivering outstanding teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and consistently achieves excellent results in graduate prospects metrics (93% graduates in graduate-level employment or further study within 15 months, Guardian ranking for 2025). Our software engineering teaching has been hailed as a ‘best practice’ example by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.

We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Computer Science and welcome applications that would complement and/or strengthen our existing areas of research. Applicants should either have, or have the potential for producing, high quality publications and attracting significant research funding. Applicants will have a track record demonstrated excellence, or will show the potential for excellence, in delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and the supervision of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The post holder will be expected to contribute strongly to the development of research impact, and the successful applicant will have, or have the potential to have, a strong track record in this area.
