2. JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:?
The candidate is expected to teach undergraduates and graduate courses in geography and planning in the academic Programs at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD). geography and planning courses are delivered both in French (Bachelor level) and English (Master level) and teaching duties include teaching lectures, tutorials and directing student research and projects. Full Professor, Assistant and Associate professor, have a service load of 192 hours (contact hours) per academic year and need to engage each semester in related duties, including grading, invigilation, and office hours. Teaching workload reduction could be authorized for research or administrative purposes.?

The candidate is expected to participate and engage actively in research activities/projects with the framework of the strategic objectives of the institution and lead their own research projects, in collaboration with local or/and international partners.?

She/he will also collaborate with other faculty members, in promoting the department activities on local and international levels, and will serve on committees when needed, and participate actively in the life of the Department and the University. ?

	?Deliver teaching courses to ensure that student learning outcomes are achieved, and aim for teaching excellence for the department, including but not limited to preparing teaching material in advance; communicating subject matter in a way students can understand; observing student progress and learning styles; reacting appropriately to students’ needs; responding, where appropriate, to student questions outside class times; preparing for contingencies in course delivery etc.?

	Provide academic and career advice to students according to their academic or personal needs, within own level of competence. 	Self-evaluation of the course. ?

?Examination Duties ??


	Invigilate examinations when required, to ensure that exams are carried out according to the rules set out by the exam board; allow each candidate to sit the exam in the same conditions; and control cheating.
	To support and participate in examination activities such as paper setting, assessing answer sheets, students’ presentation, and practical evaluation etc.


Administrative?


	Work with relevant departments to support the development and implementation of university functions, such as Student Recruitment; Admissions; Library learning resources; IT teaching technology etc.?
	Coordinate teaching programs with relevant faculty staff to ensure the course complements other courses taken by students.?
	Represent the faculty or the department on relevant committees, task forces and focus groups to ensure appropriate governance and progress in the university.?

	Follow department policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.?

	Conduct collective and individual research within the field of interest in order to satisfy the strategy of the University and research objectives given by the research council and enhance the University’s reputation, including but not limited to: determining relevant research objectives, initiating and implementing a research project and managing timeframes; resources; materials, finance, equipment etc. in order to achieve the research objectives.?
	Write-up research work appropriately for publication to disseminate ideas and results to the wider community and participate in presentations and conferences to establish and maintain network contacts, raise the profile of the research and University, and keep up to date with recent developments.?
	Identify appropriate sources of funding and prepare research proposals in order to obtain the financial support needed for the research project.?
	Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research students to assist in the development of their research skills and fulfil the research requirements of their degree qualification.?


Daily operations of the department?


	Liaise with the Academic Coordinator to arrange the teaching requirements, such as lesson schedules; teaching materials; submission of student assessments; addressing student special needs for testing etc.?
	Participate in the events, communications, and school visits etc. in order to support the recruitment objectives. ?
	Organize events and extra-curricular activities (cultural events, conferences, field trips etc.), encourage community engagement and culture of continuous learning and professional development.

The Chair of Technology and Innovation Management conducts research covering the emergence, development, and commercialization of new ideas and inventions. We try to better understand how various incentive mechanisms, different forms of organizing as well as characteristics of individuals and organizations and their environment influence their innovation activities. The topics of courses offered are aligned with these research topics and are mostly targeting master students.

Several exciting opportunities have arisen for Electrical and Senior Electrical Technicians to join the newly-restructured Maintenance Services team at the University of Surrey.

Working as part of a team responsible for the operational maintenance of University premises, you will be undertaking planned and reactive work on electrical systems to support the University’s infrastructure and environmental control systems across all our premises, ensuring that they are maintained in a safe, efficient, and functional order.

The post will be required to support our current day pattern of 08.00 – 16.12 Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities include:


	Maintain all electrical systems, including statutory inspection and testing where required, to meet current legislative requirements.
	Ensure failing plant or assets are reported to the Helpdesk and plant areas are maintained in good condition.
	Deliver an effective and timely response to maintenance demands across the University in a timely and cost-effective manner.
	Ensure compliance with all University Health and Safety and Environmental systems and procedures, and take an active part in the development of these policies
	Ensure the use of equipment and materials in delivery of maintenance services are appropriate and meet current legislative standards.
	Keep up to date with electrical related legislation and developments, attending courses to improve knowledge and passing necessary exams to maintain professional accreditation where relevant.
	Carry out multi-skilled tasks such as mechanical isolation and fault finding, minor carpentry, redecoration repairs linked to maintenance work.


For the senior role,?you’ll need good planning, organising and prioritising skills, and will be expected to tackle more complex tasks, take on additional responsibilities and communicate effectively at a senior level.

The post holder may be required to support out of hours rotas as required by the SSM (Service Support Manager) to ensure operational effectiveness and business continuity.

Postdoctoral Researcher

Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration, is looking for a?highly motivated and productive Postdoctoral Researcher on the following fields: business management with an emphasis on human resource management, strategic management, sustainable business management, or business information technology management. We are offering a?full-time early career position with a?3-year contract.

The position is designed to allow the candidate to work in one of three established teams corresponding to the candidate’s background and research focus. The main agenda will be publishing papers?in international top journals within the field, attracting external research funding, and developing international research cooperation.
