Faculty of Science and Technology - FST

Faculty of Science and Technology aims to provide programmes for undergraduate and graduate education with quality reaching international standard. It strives to become a research active unit advancing the knowledge of engineering and science, and serves the community and industry as an agent of technological innovation and educational advancement. Currently, about 90 faculty members from diverse international backgrounds serve in this faculty. Qualifications


	A PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, or related disciplines;?
	Candidates should have considerable experience in academic development planning and research development, and be excellence in teaching, research and service with outstanding academic leadership skills for research and development;
	A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research;
	Substantial experience in securing research funding;
	Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
	English is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.


The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as soon as possible.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. As a Senior Lecturer, you will be employed in the field of programming languages. You will primarily organise and lead introductory and in-depth courses in the areas of programming as well as concepts and theoretical foundations of programming languages.

You actively participate in scientific teaching, research & administration, which means:


	You will independently lead courses at Bachelor's and Master's level, develop them in line with the current state of research and coordinate their content with the other courses in the curricula.

	We expect from you the ongoing reception of the current state of science as well as continuing didactic training.

Several exciting opportunities have arisen for Electrical and Senior Electrical Technicians to join the newly-restructured Maintenance Services team at the University of Surrey.

Working as part of a team responsible for the operational maintenance of University premises, you will be undertaking planned and reactive work on electrical systems to support the University’s infrastructure and environmental control systems across all our premises, ensuring that they are maintained in a safe, efficient, and functional order.

The post will be required to support our current day pattern of 08.00 – 16.12 Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities include:


	Maintain all electrical systems, including statutory inspection and testing where required, to meet current legislative requirements.
	Ensure failing plant or assets are reported to the Helpdesk and plant areas are maintained in good condition.
	Deliver an effective and timely response to maintenance demands across the University in a timely and cost-effective manner.
	Ensure compliance with all University Health and Safety and Environmental systems and procedures, and take an active part in the development of these policies
	Ensure the use of equipment and materials in delivery of maintenance services are appropriate and meet current legislative standards.
	Keep up to date with electrical related legislation and developments, attending courses to improve knowledge and passing necessary exams to maintain professional accreditation where relevant.
	Carry out multi-skilled tasks such as mechanical isolation and fault finding, minor carpentry, redecoration repairs linked to maintenance work.


For the senior role,?you’ll need good planning, organising and prioritising skills, and will be expected to tackle more complex tasks, take on additional responsibilities and communicate effectively at a senior level.

The post holder may be required to support out of hours rotas as required by the SSM (Service Support Manager) to ensure operational effectiveness and business continuity.

The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full Professor of Portuguese Literature. The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation.
