We are based within the Student Administration Services Department, who undertake the administration of the student lifecycle including Welcome, Enrolment & Registration, Visa Support & Guidance, Student Records, Graduation, and International Student Welcome. We work to ensure all students who study at King's receive a world-class student experience by aligning support for students through their educational journey with the academic cycle of events throughout the year.?

This role sits within the Student Lifecycle Events & Engagement team which delivers on a range of projects and events aimed at enhancing the student experience at both Graduation and Welcome to King’s. Welcome to King’s aims to give a high quality and inclusive first experience for all incoming students. Graduation is a key programme of work that supports students to successfully transition to their next chapter.

We are part of the Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.

About The Role

Each year, around 12,000 students attend a graduation ceremony, while Welcome to King’s supports over 16,000 students joining King’s College London. The post holder will assist in the preparation, organisation and administration of these important university events, and aim to provide a high-quality experience for all our staff and students.?

Working collaboratively with services and faculties across the institution, the post holder will provide quality customer service for stakeholders, responding to enquiries effectively and appropriately and continually seeking opportunities to enhance the student experience.?

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to support student engagement, and who wishes to utilise their skills and expertise in planning large scale events and stakeholder management. We aim to deliver high-quality, market leading events that the University can be proud of, and which provide a brilliant experience for our students.?

In conjunction with the Student Lifecycle Events & Engagement Managers, the Student Lifecycle Events and Engagement Senior Officers, the other Student Lifecycle Events & Engagement Officer and any other team members or support staff, the role holder will heavily support on the organisation and delivery of Welcome to King’s in September 2025. The role holder will also support where possible on the organisation and delivery of graduation ceremonies, held at the Royal Festival Hall and Southwark Cathedral in July.?

We encourage applications from candidates who have experience from both within and outside of the Higher Education sector where they can demonstrate the skills needed to succeed in this role. Experience of working in events is desirable, though not essential, and a keen eye for detail and an understanding of the logistical requirements of event management would be beneficial.

We offer a flexible working structure (core hours between 10am – 4pm), with a mixture of remote working and together as a team in our central London offices. During peak periods (June - September) additional days in the office will be required as standard.

Please be prepared to work flexibly during delivery times and note that some events and activities take place outside of normal working hours on evenings and weekends and/or require early start times.?

This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract expected to start in April 2025 and run until October 2025.

Along with NYU Shanghai and Duke University Kunshan, Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) is one of only three full legal-person Sino-American universities with all English instruction approved by the Ministry of Education in China.

WKU sits on approximately 500 beautiful acres and currently enrolls 5,100 undergraduate and graduate students. About the Job:

The Philosophy and Religion program at WKU embraces a cross-cultural approach to the perennial questions and perspectives that have shaped and continue to define the variegated horizons of humanity's pursuit of wisdom and meaning. Our current faculty consists of one full-time lecturer who oversees the Philosophy and Religion minor, while at the same time providing support for other degree programs, including Psychology, Business Science and Mathematic majors.? In order to foster the cultivation of a moral/philosophical imagination for WKU students, our regular course offerings include: (1) Introduction to Philosophy; (2) Critical Thinking; (3) Logic; (4) Introduction to Ethics; (5) Environmental Ethics; (6) Moral Problems in Medicine and Health Care; (7) Philosophy of Law; (8) World Religions; and (9) Eastern Religions (India, China, Korea, and Japan).? As we look to grow and develop the Philosophy and Religion program, we would like to build upon the following areas: (a) Phenomenology and Continental Philosophy; (b) Asian Philosophies and Religions; (c) Philosophy of Science; and (d) Indigenous Ontologies.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in teaching undergraduate courses, show evidence of a strong, independent research program, and demonstrate potential to publish and secure external funding at a level similar to tenure track professors at a US R1 university. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to contribute to the growth of the Humanities and Social Sciences department, including, but not limited to curriculum development, program assessment, student recruitment/ advisement, office hours, senior project supervision, and internship opportunities.?

A tenure-track Assistant Professor is a full time, 10-month employee who teaches 24 credits per academic year (6-credit course release per academic year is available for grant proposal development and other substantial research initiatives in the first three years of appointment). Start-up grant will be provided to launch student-engaging research programs. Candidate will be expected to participate in the full range of faculty responsibilities, including high quality teaching, research, advising; student learning?support;?service to the university and/or professional community. Tenure-track appointment requires publications in internationally recognized and rigorously peer-reviewed journals in Philosophy or other closely related subjects.

Faculty positions at WKU offer:


	Annual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience with the range from $65,000-$75,000 for Assistant Professors. Salary of extraordinary candidates shall be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications

A PhD in Philosophy or a related field is required. ABD will be considered with completion prior to the effective date of employment. At the Faculty of Psychology, Institute of General Psychology, Biopsychology and Methods of Psychology, the Chair of Biopsychology offers two positions as

Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)

starting June 1, 2025 or at the earliest possible date thereafter. The positions are limited to 3 years with the option for extension. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The positions aim at obtaining further academic qualification (usually habilitation). Balancing family and career is an important issue. The new Chair of Biopsychology studies the neuronal and computational underpinnings of higher cognitive functions including memory, decision-making, and learning. A particular focus is on how the brain dynamically structures information in working memory to enable adaptive behavior. The research group uses neuroscientific techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and eye-tracking, in combination with multivariate analysis methods and computational modeling. The research activities in the group are supported by a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC), a Heisenberg grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG), and ongoing collaborations with various research institutions in Berlin (e.g., MPIB, Charité, Einstein Center for Neuroscience)

Tasks: scientific research and teaching activities along the research themes of the Chair of Biopsychology, including designing, implementing, analyzing, and disseminating research projects with behavioral, neuroscientific, computational, and/or theoretical approaches; The positions include teaching obligations according to HSDAVO in TUD’s Bachelor of Psychology course (Biopsychology) and the Master program Cognitive-Affective Neuroscience, including examination matters. Tasks may also include laboratory management and funding acquisition. The postholders will be expected to engage in co-supervision of PhD and MSc projects and are encouraged to develop their own lines of independent research.

Requirements: university and PhD degree (or expect to hold the PhD degree by the starting date) in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related disciplines. A solid background in Cognitive Neuroscience, Biological Psychology, or Neurobiology, and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students are required. Candidates should be experienced in designing, performing, analyzing, and publishing experimental research works. Experience with either EEG, fMRI, eye-tracking, or similar methodologies will be beneficial. Strong analytical and communication skills, as well as fluency in English and German are required.

Building on the success of its Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 submission, which saw King’s College London ranked 3rd on impact amongst multi-faculty universities and the maintenance of the power ranking of 6th, we are recruiting a REF Impact Officer to join our team to support the development of the Engagement and Impact submission to REF2029.

About the role

The successful candidate will work with the three REF Impact Officers already in post (who support Main Panels A, B and C) and with the Research Impact Lead team. They will support the units of assessments aligned with REF Main Panel D (Arts & Humanities). They will provide professional services support for all aspects of the planning and delivery of the Engagement and Impact submission.?

This includes supporting the processes for identifying and preparing impact case studies and collating evidence of impact. They will maintain internal resources for impact (including internal communication channels) and will provide support as required to impact-related groups and events.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) role and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

The opportunity is available to work in a hybrid way, with an expectation of a minimum of five days per month on campus but attending campus as and when required to perform the role effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
