Hormuud University is in the Wajadhir district of Mogadishu by executives of Hormuud Telecom, the largest private sector employer in Somalia.
Students can study courses in engineering, computer science, information technology, economics and management science, arts and social sciences, sharia and leadership, agriculture, geology, and environmental science.
The university is divided across two sites, one close to the coast and Medina Market and the other the main Wajadhir campus, in Mogadishu.
Students are chosen by an entrance exam, with the strongest performers offered scholarships.
