Basic information and contact details for Indian School of Business

institution

The Indian School of Business is a private school founded in 1996 by a group of academics and business leaders in Hyderabad. It moved into its campus in the city, which remains its academic headquarters, in 2001 and in 2010 expanded operations to Mohali, where postgraduate programmes have been provided since 2012.

Both campuses are purpose-built and are described in school literature as "self-contained oases".

The school is accredited by AACSB but, being outside the university system, has no need of Indian government accreditation. Its declared aim is to educate leaders "who not only have an understanding of the developing economies, but also present a global perspective".
With this aim it developed early international partnerships, linking with the Wharton and Kellogg Schools in the United States in 1997 and the London Business School in 2000.

There is an emphasis on youth, reflected not only in the Young Leaders programme offering mentoring to the most promising graduates, but the supplementing of the usual governing body with a "Next Generation Leaders Board" of the brightest young Indian business leaders to advise on the future direction of the school.

The school offers international executives a short "India Inside" immersion programme in Mohali, combining intensive study with field trips.

Academic specialisms include India¡¯s forest economies, and the school is a partner in a project aimed to define and protect the rights of forest dwellers.

Since 2005 India¡¯s Independence Day on the15th August, has been celebrated by Bandhan, a programme of events for underprivileged children put on by the "Net Impact Club", a student social responsibility programme.
