Established in 1985, the Islamic Azad University, Najafabad Branch (IAUN) ¨C also known as the University of Najafabad ¨C was the first independent branch of the Islamic Azad University system, located in Najafabad in Iran.
IAUN now educates around 26,000 university students a year across 250 different majors. Students can gain both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees within a wide variety of subjects, including: electrical engineering, computer engineering, civil engineering, medical science, arts and urbanism, human science, nursing and midwifery, and law and theology.
On campus, students have everything they need including nine dormitories, three mosques, eight meeting and conference halls seating 5,000 people, a five-story hospital located in Isfahan and the largest academic library in Iran spread across eight floors.
On campus, students are actively encouraged to take part in sports activities. There are 17 sport complexes offering indoor and outdoor facilities for bodybuilding, karate, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, chess, handball, badminton, judo and taekwondo. There¡¯s also an indoor swimming pool (with wet and dry sauna and jacuzzi) as well as indoor and outdoor fields.
The university also has partnerships with other universities worldwide offering students the chance to spend a year studying abroad. IAUN also welcomes international students to its campus.
IAUN offers a small number of scholarships designed to recognise and award academic excellence and provide access to high-performing students regardless of their circumstance.
