About the Role

The Lecturer in Paramedicine will play a pivotal role in advancing teaching and learning within the Bachelor of Paramedicine programs at the College of Medicine and Public Health. The successful candidate will independently enhance the educational experience by integrating innovative teaching practices and technologies, ensuring the highest standards of excellence in both instruction and the scholarship of teaching.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Clinical qualifications in paramedicine and current registration (or ability to obtain) with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (PBA)/AHPRA
	Experience with teaching and learning at a tertiary level and/or in an appropriate workplace setting, inclusive of simulation
	Good understanding of context appropriate assessment techniques and capacity to provide constructive feedback and evidence of a student-centred approach
	The ability to obtain and maintain an authority to practice as a paramedic with SA Ambulance Service or St John Ambulance NT
	Experience or capability to engage with students (and deliver teaching modules) via online learning platforms
	Successful and independent innovation in learning and teaching delivery or design, including use of e-learning technologies.


Level C

About the Role

The Senior Lecturer will take on a leadership role in fostering excellence in teaching and learning across the Paramedicine curriculum within the College of Medicine and Public Health. This position entails making substantial contributions to both teaching leadership and the scholarship of teaching, utilizing innovative practices and technologies to enhance educational outcomes. A deep understanding of contemporary paramedicine clinical practice will be essential. Additionally, the Senior Lecturer will play a vital role in serving the College and University, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic academic environment.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Completion of a PhD and/or qualifications and equivalent clinical experience in paramedicine
	Current registration (or ability to obtain) with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (PBA)
	Significant and sustained evidence of experience with development, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning at a tertiary level and/or in an appropriate workplace setting, inclusive of simulation
	Evidence of application of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline
	The ability to obtain and maintain an authority to practice as a paramedic with SA Ambulance Service or St John Ambulance NT
	Significant track record and demonstrated evidence of successful relevant paramedicine teaching experience and leadership at tertiary level, including responsibility for topic coordination, course coordination and curriculum design, reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.

	A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related disciplines;?
	A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research and scholarship;

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Department of Mathematics (MAT) of the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in the area of Statistics. This position is intended to complement and strengthen the expertise of existing staff members. We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in terms of scientific publications, and a commitment to teaching and student supervision.

MAT currently has 18 faculty members and more than 40 PhD students, their research areas cover Probability and Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, and Analysis. The department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD degree programs. The Bachelor degree program has two streams: Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science. The PhD program provides sufficient financial supports through the following funding sources: Chinese Government NSFC Funding, Macau Government FDCT PhD Funding, UM PhD Scholarship, UM PhD Assistantship.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related areas; Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research record in Statistics, Applied Probability or Data Science. The department is working on developing a Master program in applied statistics.? The successful candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the program.? The candidates for appointment at the rank of Full Professor must have achieved a high level of distinction and recognition, and have made significant contributions to a related research area.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in March 2025.

The faculty Bursar of the MU Faculty of Medicine announces a?selection procedure for the position of Postdoc in?The Biology of Primary Cilia Signaling?at the Department of Biology, MED MUNI

Description of the lab

Primary cilia are organelles with important functions in cellular signaling, morphogenesis and homeostasis. Mutations in genes that regulate cilia architecture or function result in disorders called ciliopathies. The ciliopathies comprise developmental syndromes, and also postnatal homeostatic disorders including cancer.?In the research lab of Dr. Michaela Bosakova?we focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms by which cilia are formed and used by protein kinases and signaling pathways (published work). Our ultimate goal is to comprehend the pathogenesis of selected ciliopathies, and contribute to development of their therapies.

The project and responsibilities

The selected applicant will lead a?project that aims to target ciliary signaling in glioblastoma, which is one of the deadliest cancers with very limited treatment options. The approaches used in the project will comprise mainly establishment of primary cultures, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, cell and tissue imaging, and cell signaling experiments. Beyond the research tools and technology available in the lab and the hosting department, they will have access to the state-of-the-art instrumentation and services at the MUNI University campus core facilities. They will also participate in projects of other group members, including PhD and master students.

Qualifications:


	PhD degree in the field of cell biology or similar
	Significant, published experience with primary cilia research and/or cell signaling
	Hands-on experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing is a?great advantage
	Ability to work independently allied with a?strong team spirit, scientific creativity, and motivation
	Good communication in English
