Krirk University is a private university located in Bang Khen District, Bangkok, Thailand. It was founded in 1952 as the Languages and Professions School, and is named after its founder, Dr. Krirk Mangkhlaphrik.
It achieved university status in 1995 and since then has been offering bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctoral degrees in Thai, Chinese and English. The university has three faculties: The Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Liberal Arts and the Faculty of Law.
Krirk University offers wide range of opportunities for students including exchange programmes, industry partnerships, recreational activities and different student forums. The university is also a regional leader in Chinese language education and organises numerous events and activities to promote Chinese culture.
In addition to this, Kirk also actively engages to foster international co-operation and has forged academic partnership with numerous universities across the world including China University of Political Science and Law, University of International Business and Economics, Weifang University of Science and Technology, and many others.
Some of the notable alumni of the university include: Dr. Chalermchai Sreeon, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Dr. Kanokwan Vilawan, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, Mr. Sira Jenjaka, Member of Parliament of Bangkok, and Mr. Mario Maurer, actor.
