The Department of Mathematics (MAT) of the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in the area of Statistics. This position is intended to complement and strengthen the expertise of existing staff members. We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in terms of scientific publications, and a commitment to teaching and student supervision.

MAT currently has 18 faculty members and more than 40 PhD students, their research areas cover Probability and Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, and Analysis. The department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD degree programs. The Bachelor degree program has two streams: Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science. The PhD program provides sufficient financial supports through the following funding sources: Chinese Government NSFC Funding, Macau Government FDCT PhD Funding, UM PhD Scholarship, UM PhD Assistantship.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related areas; Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research record in Statistics, Applied Probability or Data Science. The department is working on developing a Master program in applied statistics.? The successful candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the program.? The candidates for appointment at the rank of Full Professor must have achieved a high level of distinction and recognition, and have made significant contributions to a related research area.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in March 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approx. USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approx. USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The role

We’re looking for a new Executive Director for Research and Innovation - a key strategic leadership role within the Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation. Under the direction of the Dean of Programs (UniSA College), the Aboriginal Pathway (AP) Program Regional Tutor is responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning experiences for students enrolled into AP programs in the regions.

The AP Program Regional Tutor will contribute to student support as well as quality assurance and improvement. The program is delivered in four regional areas of South Australia (Ceduna, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and Mount Gambier) and was introduced into metropolitan Adelaide (at the City West campus) in 2018. The program is offered to eligible Aboriginal peoples with no tuition fees incurred by the student. After an initial 3 year delivery period, with the successful enrolment and completion numbers of students completing the program and subsequently transitioning into their chosen undergraduate degree. ?

Core Responsibilities


	Deliver teaching materials and ongoing tutorial support for students by implementing appropriate teaching approaches including face to face, online and blended learning, to promote student learning and engagement
	Engage in student consultation to provide local learning support for students to assist retention and success, and direct students at risk to the Program Director: APP and Regions for academic counselling
	Participate in marking and grade moderation as part of quality assurance
	Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Program Director: APP and Regions, implement strategies to ensure the programs meet the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders including students, the university, and community
	Liaise with Pastoral Care Support Officer and Wirringka Student Services to ensure Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance (ATP) tutoring is provided in a timely, efficient and effective manner

	Relevant tertiary qualifications
	A sound understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking enabling courses
	A passion for and commitment to equity, high level teaching and continuous improvement in enabling education and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development around teaching
	Demonstrated ability and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies including familiarity with online tools and Learning Management Systems, grade moderation and student consultation
	Demonstrated understanding of the challenges associated with geographically distributed teams, and an ability to adopt a problem-solving approach to effective program delivery

The Department of Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London is looking to appoint a lecturer to support its research and teaching. The Department has a record of outstanding research and was ranked 17th overall among UK computer science departments in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021, Times Higher Education ranking). We have very strong research groups in the areas of Intelligent Systems, Machine Learning, Algorithms and Complexity, and Programming Languages and Systems. It has also made recent appointments in Quantum Computing and Software Engineering, and there are strong collaborations with the Information Security Department.

The Department is committed to delivering outstanding teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and consistently achieves excellent results in graduate prospects metrics (93% graduates in graduate-level employment or further study within 15 months, Guardian ranking for 2025). Our software engineering teaching has been hailed as a ‘best practice’ example by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.

We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Computer Science and welcome applications that would complement and/or strengthen our existing areas of research.
