The role

We’re looking for a new Executive Director for Research and Innovation - a key strategic leadership role within the Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Registrar, you will guide the research and innovation strategy to enhance our institution’s reputation and impact, cementing us firmly into the world’s top 50 research-intensive universities. As a critical member of our Professional Services Leadership group, you’ll collaborate closely with senior academic and administrative leaders, shaping a unified and ambitious approach to research excellence.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will:


	Lead the university’s initiatives to scale, innovate, and improve research quality and outcomes, aligning with strategic UK and global societal goals.
	Foster a collaborative culture across faculties, promoting shared goals and breaking down barriers to effective strategic delivery.
	Oversee and continuously improve the activities of the Research, Enterprise, and Innovation Division, creating impactful programs and partnerships.
	Drive the sustainable growth of research, including securing funding, enhancing knowledge exchange, and expanding enterprise initiatives.
	Represent the university externally to stakeholders and policymakers, both nationally and internationally, as a champion of our research impact.
	Guide the strategic development and financial planning of the division, ensuring resources are effectively managed to maximize outcomes.

About the Role?

You will be responsible for undertaking research related activities associated with the project titled “Cultivating Systemic Safety to Prevent Workplace Sexual Harassment” funded via an ARC Linkage Project Agreement. This project sits within the Centre for Workplace Excellence, in partnership with 12 organisations who play an important role in understanding the origins of sexual harassment in the workplace in Australia, and are working to mitigate this problem.

Workplace sexual harassment is a significant issue, costing our economy more than $3.5 billion each year. It disrupts business operations and slows progress in achieving gender equality at work. Traditional prevention methods include policies, training, and reporting, which focus on the behaviour itself without addressing its root causes. This misdirection of effort is a major reason why the problem persists. The project will learn more about the origins of sexual harassment in the organisational system – looking deeper into aspects like organisational culture, social dynamics, job and task characteristics, technology, and the physical work environment – and develop new evidence-based prevention strategies.?

You will proactively support and contribute to high quality research through advanced qualitative analysis, competitive research grant activities, as well as actively participate in research concentrations and other relevant collaborative forums, to deliver high quality research outcomes.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Faculty of Life Sciences runs several national and international field stations. One of them is the Tropical Field Station La Gamba, which is used as research and teaching facility and situated at the edge of the Parque Nacional Piedras Blancas and close to the Osa Peninsula with the Corcovado National Park in southern Costa Rica. Your personal sphere of influence

You are affiliated to the Faculty of Life Sciences at the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research at Rennweg 14, which houses several research groups including Tropical Ecology and Animal Biodiversity. You will be part of the team that will coordinate groups from the University of Vienna that travel to the field station for teaching and to perform research. You will be involved in the exchange and negotiations with the local authorities in Costa Rica and you will also be in close contact with the La Gamba Society (and its members), which owns the field station, as well as the management team of the field station. In your function as a senior scientist, it is expected that you perform and promote research in the tropical environment in and around the field station and coordinate research activities from the University of Vienna in and around La Gamba. Postdoctoral Researcher

Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration, is looking for a?highly motivated and productive Postdoctoral Researcher on the following fields: business management with an emphasis on human resource management, strategic management, sustainable business management, or business information technology management. We are offering a?full-time early career position with a?3-year contract.

The position is designed to allow the candidate to work in one of three established teams corresponding to the candidate’s background and research focus. The main agenda will be publishing papers?in international top journals within the field, attracting external research funding, and developing international research cooperation. We are looking for a?candidate:


	In the early career stage after the Ph.D. graduation,
	with a?Ph.D. degree (or expected to get the degree by June 2025) in business management, business administration, human resource management, economics, finance, psychology, or a?related field from a?respected ranked university,

What does the position entail?
