Previously known as the School of Business and Economic Studies (1997) and the Faculty of Business (2003), Leeds University Business School is the business school of the University of Leeds in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.

The school can trace its history back to 1874. It is now located in the Maurice Keyworth building, dating from the 19th century and formerly Leeds Grammar School, on the university*s Western Campus a mile from the city centre.

There are 3,700 students in attendance, originating from over 100 countries: 1,900 undergraduates, 1,700 master's students and 100 postgraduate researchers.

At undergraduate level, BSc*s are offered in accounting and finance; banking and finance; business analytics; business economics, economics, economics and finance, economics and management, international business, international business and finance, international business and marketing with BAs in business management; business management and the human resource; business management with marketing and human resource management.

Master's are offered in accounting and finance, actuarial finance, banking and international finance, finance and investment, financial mathematics, financial risk management, business analytics and decision sciences, information systems and information management, economics, economics and finance, enterprise and entrepreneurship, global strategy and innovation management, international business, management among others. It also offers MAs in advertising and marketing and in corporate communications; marketing and public relations and human resource management.

Other courses include: the Leeds MBA, full time MBA, executive MBA, PhD, MA by research and executive education.

Leeds Business School has a wide range of research centres under various headings. In "Decision making, economic sustainability and finance", there is the Applied Institute of Research in Economics (AIRE), the Centre for Advanced Studies in Finance (CASIF), the Centre for Decision Research (CDR), the Credit Management Research Centre (CMRC) and the International Banking Institute (IBI).

Under the heading of "International business and marketing", there is the Centre for International Business at the University of Leeds (CIBUL), the Global and Strategic Marketing Research Centre (GLOSMARC); Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC), the Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds (BCI).

In the "Technology and innovation" section, centres are: Adaptation, Information Management, Technology (AIMTech), Centre for Technology, Innovation and Engagement (C-TIE), Centre for Operations and Supply Chain Research (COSCR), Socio-Technical Centre (STC), Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Studies (CEES).

"Leadership, work organisation and employment" comprises of the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change (CERIC) and Workplace Behaviour Research Centre (WBRC). Affiliated centres, groups and institutions include: Centre for Global Development (CDG); Global Food and Environment Institute, the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA), Leeds Social Sciences Institute (LSSI), Realism Leeds (evaluating and testing policy and practice) and the University of Leeds CITIES research.

Leeds Business School is triple accredited (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS), putting it among the top 1 per cent of world business schools. It also accredited by organisations including the British Psychological Society, the Chartered Association of Business Schools, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, ESRC, and the Chartered Banker Institute.

It is regularly ranked among the top 100 business schools by publications including the Financial Times, The Economist and CEO Magazine and its courses have enjoyed top positions among UK institutions. It was selected as the seventh most targeted university by graduate recruiter in The High Fliers Report and was placed in the top 10 for UK business and management research institutions by the Research Excellence Framework.

Notable alumni include: Emily Cummins, entrepreneur and inventor; Jos谷 ?ngel Gurr赤a, secretary general of the OECD; Sir Peter Hendy CBE, chairman of network rail; John R Hirst, former CEO of the Met Office; Subir Raha, former chairman and managing director of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation; Jayant Krishna, executive director and chief operating officer of the National Skill Development Corporation and Sudhir Chaturvedi, President and Executive Board Member at Larsen & Toubro Infotech.
