Maqsut Narikbayev KAZGUU University, founded in 1994, is a leading private higher education institution located in Kazakhstan¡¯s capital, Astana.
The university is named after Maqsut Narikbayev, a lawyer and figure in Kazakhstan¡¯s Supreme Court. Its main campus sits in the Yesil District in the southern part of Astana, on the banks of the River Ishim.
Considering it¡¯s namesake, it is no surprise the university places a strong emphasis on law, business and social science programmes. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, and is comprised of five schools. These are: the School of Liberal Arts, the International School of Economics, the International School of Journalism, KAZGUU Business School and the renowned KAZGUU Law School.
It offers courses in a range of languages, and most courses are taught bilingually in Kazakh and English.
The university offers modern academic and non-academic facilities, including a gym, sports centre, libraries, music rooms, IT rooms, co-working spaces, on campus-living areas and canteens. The student-elected student council oversees clubs and societies, as well as events and festivals.
