The faculty Bursar of the MU Faculty of Medicine announces a?selection procedure for the position of Postdoc in?The Novel Mechanisms in Skeletogenesis?at the Department of Biology, MED MUNI

The project and responsibilities

The bone formation and skeletogenesis are complex processes many aspects of which are not understood. In order to produce treatments for developmental and aging bone disorders, we need to uncover molecular mechanisms that are involved. The selected applicant will lead a?project on mechanisms GRK2 kinase uses to produce and maintain healthy skeleton. This project will involve conditional mouse models, ex-vivo explants and cellular models; the approaches will comprise mainly morphological and histological analysis of the mouse skeletal tissues, establishment of primary cultures, and cell signaling experiments. Beyond the research tools and technology available in the lab and the hosting department, they will have access to the state-of-the-art instrumentation and services at the MUNI University campus core facilities. They will also participate in projects of other group members, including PhD and master students.

Qualifications:


	PhD degree in the field of developmental biology, cell biology or similar
	Significant, published experience with histology techniques
	Hands-on experience with cell cultures and/or cell signaling is a?great advantage

	Good communication in English

	A track record as an effective educator, with the ability to design, develop, and deliver higher education curricula;
	A consistent record of research publications in high-ranking journals in business and commerce, evidenced by publications in ABDC-ranked journals (A or higher); and
	Evidence of applying advanced statistical analysis methods in business and commerce research.


Desirable 


	Postgraduate qualifications in higher education.
	Industry certifications in data science, data analytics, statistics, cloud computing, machine learning or artificial intelligence.
	Research expertise in psychometrics, including Structural Equation Modelling, mediation and moderation analysis, multi-group analysis and latent variable modelling.

They will be responsible for supporting the Undergraduate Student Recruitment Manager in creating and executing a strategic recruitment plan for domestic growth. This includes developing targeted outreach and marketing campaigns that enhance the University’s presence in schools, colleges of further education, and career exhibitions. The Officer will lead the Schools Liaison programme (including the School Visits and Career Exhibition calendar), ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic objectives and effective execution of recruitment initiatives across key regions. In addition to event and programme coordination, the Officer will use historical data to design and refine recruitment strategies, tracking outcomes to enhance impact. They will also collaborate closely with the Communications and Marketing Office and external agencies to manage annual undergraduate recruitment campaigns. Relationship-building with external stakeholders, including schools and guidance counselors, is a critical part of the role, as is overseeing key outreach activities such as career fairs and the schools outreach programme.

This dynamic role requires a highly organised, strategic thinker with experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement, outreach coordination, and leadership, ideally within the context of education or recruitment. About You

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work with research teams and partnerships in the School and Research Institutes. You will be required to undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy. In this position you will carry out independent and/or team research which has a significant impact in the area of your specialisation and be acknowledged at a national level as being influential in expanding the knowledge of your relevant discipline.

As the Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you are expected to plan, develop and engage in high quality research projects that are aligned with the University's research focus areas. You will embed your research expertise into the life of the School through the development of high-quality, productivity-driven research networks across RMIT and with local and national, internal and external partners. You will be expected to engage in high quality research projects, to achieve success in attracting research funding and to produce high quality outputs.

To be successful in this position, you will meet the following Key Selection Criteria:


	Demonstrated capability involving lipid nanoparticles formulation and physicochemical characterisation techniques (AFM, DLS, cryo-TEM etc.).
	Evidence of experience in performing mammalian cell culture and study cell-nanoparticle interactions using various techniques (confocal imaging, flow cytometry, TEM, etc.).
	Experience in studying cell-nanoparticle interactions under dynamic flow conditions is preferred but not required.
	Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs
	Demonstrate experience in paper writing. Ability to independently form high quality paper drafts is essential.
	Demonstrate strong communication skills.
	Possess the ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to work with colleagues confidently and effectively.
	Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.
	Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.
