Michael and Cecilia Ibru University is a private university based at Agbara-Otor in Delta State. It was founded by business people Michael and Cecilia Ibru in 2015.
It launched with faculties of management and social science and natural and applied sciences and has since added law, computing and arts and humanities. All courses were fully accredited by the National Universities Commission by 2019.
Some 13 new courses including law, theatre arts and music, microbiology, cyber security and public administration were launched in 2021.
Research centres include the Centre for Innovative and Technical Entrepreneurship which supports small and medium-sized businesses and the Urhobo Innovation Hub. It is among the institutions supporting the 20-nation AllSchool Africa programme to develop software engineers.
