Misr International University, established in 1996, is located in the suburbs of Cairo, Egypt*s capital. The campus was originally situated in the Maadi region, but it has since been moved to the Ahmed Orabi District.
The university has six faculties available for students to study in, namely, business administration and international trade, computer science, engineering sciences and arts, languages and mass communication, oral and dental medicine, and pharmacy. There are specific departments within the faculties that students can choose to specialise in.
To prepare its students for entry into the global workforce, the university has established partnerships with renowned American and European academic institutions. This has enabled the university to provide a unique educational experience which merges both Egyptian and Western systems. It has also led to a number of study abroad programmes that are available to students who want to participate in academic exchanges.
On top of their studies, students have the opportunity to get involved in the university*s various clubs. These include Tuners (a club for musical students), ASCC (which carries out charity work such as visiting orphanages) and Gamers Lounge (the university*s first entertainment club that organises anime and gaming events). The university also organises annual social events for all students, such as International Day, Sports Day, and an Employment Fair.
The university*s magazine captures the spirit of the university. Aimed at staff, students, and alumni, MIU Magazine (3alwara2) is published in both English and Arabic. It is a platform for members of the university to express their creativity through cartoons, drawings, photography, writing and much more.
