Mogadishu University operates across six sites in Mogadishu. The main Yaqshid campus accommodates health sciences, computer science and information, and engineering.
Sharia and law is at Wadjir. The Dharkenley site is the home of economics and management, political science and political administration. There are three sites close to the city centre, with Tahi the home of medicine and the Institute of Languages, while other sites house the Graduate School and the administration.
The Institute of Somali Studies analyses the region and the numerous expatriate Somali communities, the Mother and Children Education Centre focusses on issues like female genital mutilation and the Institute of Peace, Water and Environment examines the impact of the civil war.
Since 2014 Radio Himalo, based at Wadjir campus, has offered both entertainment and development-focussed information.
