To facilitate us in achieving this ambition, we are seeking a Data Analysis and Insights Officer to provide data insights and analysis across a range of metrics to inform the development and implementation of the University’s Ranking Strategy. The Data Analysis and Insights Officer will coordinate all processes related to the collation and analysis of data for the Global University Rankings with which the University engages, and lead the monitoring and analysis of this data. The person appointed will also be responsible for using and presenting data analysis to inform Senior Management strategic decision-making in relation to rankings. They will also be responsible for supporting the establishment of a Working Group on University Rankings Strategy, and for providing ongoing coordination and administration of its activities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in the management and analysis of large volumes of quantitative data. They will have the skills, knowledge and competency to present data clearly, and to analyse that data to provide insights that inform strategic decision-making at all levels of the organisation, up to and including Senior Management level. The appointed candidate will have strong communication skills, orally and in writing and will have excellent data visualisation skills. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and will enjoy working as part of team, both within their own unit and across the University.

The person appointed will be based in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation and report to the Vice President (or nominee). Please note that reporting and organisational structures may change in line with project and organisational developments that may take place over the course of the period of the Strategic Plan 2023-2028.

Salary:

Administrative Officer II: €44,958– €63,876 p.a. (9 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

The Riddet Institute is a world-best research centre in food and nutritional sciences, providing fundamental scientific understanding and training for a new generation of science leaders. The Riddet Institute includes a New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) that integrates partner organisations (Massey University, Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant and Food Research) and disciplines. Collectively, this leads to a 'NZ Inc' approach to food research and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food sector.

The Riddet Institute has developed in vitro models that individually simulate the behaviour of various parts of the human gastrointestinal tract in terms of food breakdown and nutrient absorption. One such example is the Human Gastric Simulator (HGS), a dynamic model of the stomach, and we are seeking a high-achieving researcher with a strong background in food science or food engineering to work on a research programme to characterise the breakdown of food in models of the human gastrointestinal tract.

The successful candidate will undertake research using these in vitro models to characterise the breakdown and properties of food during digestion and compare this with in vivo data to develop improved dynamic in vitro models, giving us a better understanding of the breakdown behaviour of different foods and the dynamic absorption of nutrients.

As the successful candidate you will have the following:

PhD in food science, food engineering or a related discipline Strong interest in the understanding of food behaviour in the human digestive system Demonstrated practical experience and a proven track record in working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to achieve defined objectives Prior laboratory experience is essential, preferably with experience in testing the physical properties of biological materials Knowledge of human digestive physiology, and the ability to work with engineers in the further development of the in vitro models, is desirable Why Palmerston North?

About the Centre for Water Technology and Policy

The Centre for Water Technology and Policy, established in 2018, conducts cutting-edge research on water technology-policy interface issues that would result in findings of direct practical relevance for Hong Kong’s urban water sector. We are seeking a Senior Research Assistant to help coordinate the implementation of large-scale, city-wide applied research and knowledge exchange projects that pertain to urban water resources management.???

Position Overview

The appointee is expected to play a key coordinating role in implementing the Centre’s research and knowledge exchange programmes, which pertain to salient public policy matters in the urban water sector. He/She will work closely with the Centre’s Executive Director and members of an interdisciplinary team, with guidance and supervision provided by the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities


	Team collaboration:?Collaborate closely with members of an interdisciplinary team, taking on a coordination function to ensure efficient project execution.
	Drafting of project write-ups: Conduct literature reviews and prepare first drafts of project progress reports.
	Community outreach:?Utilize the latest smart water metering technologies and insights from behavioral science to design and conduct community outreach activities that focus on water sustainability issues.


Requirements


	An MPhil degree in a Social Sciences discipline (e.g., Geography; Public health; Public policy; Sociology; Urban planning), with at least one year’s post-qualification experience
	Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
	Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment?
	Able to work independently and as a member of a team to meet tight deadlines

About the opportunity

The Child Population and Translational Research team are seeking a Research Fellow - Biostatistician to lead data analysis on a perinatal research funded program related to investigating the impact of pregnancy exposures, including maternal conditions and medicine use on birth outcomes. This position will be based at the University of Sydney Camperdown campus.

Your responsibilities will be to:


	conduct advanced statistical analysis using linked administrative health, medicines, education and clinical data
	involved in data preparation and management of linked datasets
	contribute to the development of statistical analysis plans, preparation of results, visualisation and reporting of research to various audiences
	collaborate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team of academics, clinicians, consumers, policy makers and other stakeholders
	contribute to developing new grant and funding applications, and more broadly to other research projects within the team.


About you


	hold PHD qualifications in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, public health with a strong component in epidemiology/biostatistics, pharmacoepidemiology, or a related degree
	demonstrated experience in data preparation, data management, and analysis of large, population-based linked administrative health and clinical datasets
	advanced biostatistical analytical skills, e.g multilevel models, causal inference methods, machine learning
	experience in preparing and reporting results for peer reviewed publications, reports, and presentations, including to lay audiences
	excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills to a wide range of audiences
	proven ability to work independently, initiate, organise and manage projects; and as part of a multidisciplinary team
	demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work with competing priorities and sometimes limited supervision.
	experience or interest in perinatal and/or child health research.

With long standing, close links with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, our research continues to fundamentally change and shape the understanding of mental illness and neurological disorders, leading to novel therapies and approaches to health and wellbeing.??We would welcome you to be a part of that journey.

Our unique collaborations include the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Maudsley that provides a unique environment to translate insights from discovery science into clinical care and the new Pears Maudsley Centre (PMC) which is a ?90m state-of-the-art hub for mental health research focused on children, adolescents, young adults and their families. The IoPPN has three schools, with over 1000 academic and research staff, and more than 4000 under and post-graduate students, making us the largest centre for mental health research and education in Europe. IoPPN research was recognised for our world leading research environment and 100% research impact (REF 2021).??

We seek a clinical researcher who can complement departmental and faculty activity, particularly in relation to the treatment of disorders involving anxiety, depression, psychosis and bipolar disorder. The post is based in the Psychology Department, part of the School of Mental Health and Psychological Sciences (MHaPS). The postholder will not only contribute to our research but will also be active in education, contributing through occasional lectures and providing research project supervision and personal tutorship ? to our students across our degree courses, and particularly those in the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.? The postholder will have access to PhD funding opportunities.?

Bringing an internationally recognised research programme and Principal Investigator experience relevant to mental/neurodevelopmental disorders, the appointee will demonstrate impact through their work, be collegiate, progressive, and interdisciplinary by nature. An appetite to develop a research team, establish collaborations across the IoPPN and KCL and where appropriate with clinical services within King’s Health Partners is highly desirable.
