National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) was established in Kaohsiung city, Taiwan, in 1980. It is named after Dr. Sun Yet-sen, the founding father of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and is located in a picturesque spot in the Kaohsiung Harbor.
The College of Management traces its origins back to the formation of the main university in 1980, then set up as the Department of Business Management. It underwent a number of title changes, covering various financial disciplines, during the 1980s and 1990s. Various AACSB accreditations came between 2005-2015 and a number of the College¡¯s main programmes began to be taught in English during the same period.
For the 2,000+ students enrolled, NSYSU offer undergraduate courses over the departments of business management, information management and finance. Its graduate courses are offered across these disciplines as well as in the Institutes of Public Affairs Management, Human Resource Management and Marketing Communication, with specific examples including the International Business MBA (IBMBA), Executive MBA program (EMBA), Cross-Strait Executive MBA program (CSEMBA) and the Master of Global Human Resource Management (GHRM).
There are also a number of double degree programmes offered with partner university business schools across the globe and a dedicated exchange programme. The College of Management offers an International Doctoral Program (iPhD) conducted in English and aimed at international students.
NSYSU¡¯s research centres include: Electronic Commerce Research Center; Research Center for Creativity and Innovation; Management Studies Research Center; Research Center for Cognition and Gesture-based Computing; Research Center for Urban and Region Development; Metropolitan Development and Environmental Planning Research Center; The Social Enterprise Development & Research Center; National Policy Research Center and the Global Talent Center.
