The National University of Technology is located in Pakistan¡¯s capital city of Islamabad, and was established in 2015.
The university focuses on applied sciences, engineering, technologies and technical skills fields with an aim to offset the country¡¯s over-reliance on imported technologies.
For undergraduate students, the university offers six bachelor¡¯s degrees in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and civil engineering technology. Bachelor's students are required to complete experiential learning programmes. Experiential learning programmes can include learning communities, career acceleration and engineering leadership.
Students can get involved in extra-curricular activities, which include events management, cricket and volleyball. There are a rane of outdoor sports facilities at the university which include a cricket ground, badminton court, open gym and athletics field.
The skills development department aims to provide students with employable skills that can be used in the world of work. The department offers certification courses in a range of areas including computer graphics and industrial stitching and has partnerships with key companies in Islamabad such as Kohinoor Mills.
Since 2018, the university¡¯s undergraduate technology labs have been working to make a collective resource for future research and development. This concept mimics that of other universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
