The Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology (often shortened to Niagara College and branded as Niagara College Canada) is a public college of applied arts and technology within the Niagara Region of Southern Ontario.
The college has three campuses: the Welland Campus in Welland, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and the Ta'if Campus in Ta'if, Saudi Arabia.
It was established in 1967 in response to the province¡¯s initiative to create institutions that provide career-oriented diploma and certificate courses, as well as continuing education programmes.
It offers over 100 post-secondary diplomas, baccalaureate degrees and advanced level programmes. The continuing education division attracts approximately 15,000 registrants to more than 600 courses each year.
Niagara College¡¯s Canadian Food and Wine Institute (CFWI) provides food, wine and beer education and training for students, employers and consumers. It specialises in Canadian regional cuisine with a focus on culinary arts and science, wine and beer sciences, food technology, and research.
It is home to three major learning enterprises: Benchmark restaurant, the Niagara College Teaching Winery and the Niagara College Teaching Brewery which is Canada¡¯s first teaching brewery. These are all located at the 114-acre Niagara-on-the-Lake campus.
There are more than 4,000 international students from more than 60 countries at the university.
