Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine is located in Obihiro, Hokkaido, Japan Many commonly refer to the establishment as Obihiro University. It was founded in 1941, as the Obihiro Technical School of Veterinary Medicine.
The university is split into two schools; the school of agriculture and the school of cooperative veterinary medicine. These schools are then split further into four departments; the department of veterinary medicine, life and food sciences, agro-environmental science and human sciences.
The university also offers master's programmes in animal science and agriculture and doctoral courses in animal science and agriculture and veterinary science.
