Okayama Prefectural University is a public university in the city of Soja, Japan.

Founded as a university in 1993, its history can be traced back to 1955 with the opening of the Okayama Prefectural Junior College of Nutrition.

The university has three faculties, of health and welfare science, computer science and systems engineering, and design.

The faculty of health and welfare science is comprised of departments of nursing science, nutritional science, and health and welfare science.

The faculty of computer science and systems engineering is comprised of departments of information and communication engineering, systems engineering, and human information engineering.

The faculty of design is comprised of departments of design and technology, and aesthetic design.

The undergraduate schools include health and welfare science, systems engineering, and design.

The university provides students with opportunities for volunteer and internship activities within the local community and encourages students to gain the title "Community Revitaliser".

The school philosophy is "Respect for human dignity and promotion of welfare".

Facilities include the Support Centre for Student Life and Career Formation, the Martial Arts Training Facility and the Tea Room.

The International Exchange Centre conducts the planning and operation of language and culture training courses and study tours at international academic exchange partner universities, and Japanese language culture training courses for international students, as well as running an English Language Village, Korean Language Village and Skype English.
