Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU), located in Wenzhou, China, one of three Sino-American universities along with NYU Shanghai and Duke Kunshan University, is approved by the Ministry of Education of China. Launched in 2012, WKU offers a unique model of higher education in partnership with Kean University, a comprehensive, public university in the state of New Jersey that is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The College of Business and Public Management is an AACSB-accredited business school. Position information:

We invite research-oriented applicants for a full-time, 10-month, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Management to begin in?Spring 2025?(February 11) or?Fall 2025?(August 16). Research-oriented applicants with demonstrated high quality teaching are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be able to teach Management related courses, as well as participate in the full range of faculty responsibilities, including advising, scholarly research and service to the University. Applicants should possess an earned doctorate in Management – preferred in the fields of MIS, Business Analytics, Operations, or Supply Chain from a Carnegie R1/AACSB/EQUIS accredited program, or anticipate completion by the contract start date. The position may be hired at the lecturer level, if the terminal degree is not earned by the starting date, or for other reasons. Applicants for the position of Associate Professor are expected to demonstrate a strong track record of research, outstanding teaching accomplishments, and leadership in their field. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate-level business courses in English.

Faculty positions at WKU offer:

The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor of Portuguese. The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation. At the undergraduate level, the Department also teaches Portuguese language within the Faculty of Law and offers elective courses in Portuguese as a foreign language to students from all faculties of the University. At the postgraduate level, the Department offers two Master programmes (i) Portuguese Language and Intercultural Studies; (ii) Translation Studies (Portuguese-Chinese), as well as one PhD programme covering different topics of Portuguese Studies.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess at least a Master degree in Portuguese Linguistics, Portuguese Literary/Cultural Studies, or Teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language. Applicants should have extensive experience in teaching Portuguese to non-native speakers at university level. Previous experience in teaching initial and advanced levels Portuguese to native speakers of Chinese will be highly valued. Applicants must be native speakers of Portuguese or to show a near-native command of the language. Proficient command of English is mandatory.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP611,940 (approximately USD75,550) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Role Description

About the Role

As a Firefighter at Cranfield Airport you will carry out rescue and fire-fighting duties, responding to reported incidents at Cranfield Airport and within the wider university campus. This will involve taking appropriate action in line with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property whilst also administering medical care if required.

In addition you will work on an agreed rota to support a wider range of essential operational functions to ensure ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement of the business. These include but are not limited to Wildlife Management, Aerodrome Inspection Duties and Operations.

About You

Cranfield Airport is focused on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and therefore it is essential that you can demonstrate the required level of professionalism and a commitment to client care. In addition you will need show that you can adopt a flexible attitude to work, possess well-developed communication skills and that you have the ability to work effectively within a closely knit team environment.

As a minimum to meet the requirements of this role you must have a full valid UK driving licence, be medically fit and able to meet the required fitness standards for Firefighters and be willing to undertake regular theoretical and practical training. Previous aviation fire-fighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority - CAA approved certification) would be an advantage as would a LGV2 Licence.

Holding a Firefighter rank would be beneficial and we encourage applications and discussions from these individuals.
