Position overview

The Centre for Public Health Research, based at Massey University's Wellington campus, is dedicated to hauora and health research that improves public health, reduces health inequities, and informs policy development. We are committed to training new health researchers and maintaining strong connections with policymakers to ensure our research makes a real impact.

We are seeking a Research Assistant - Pacific Health Research to support fieldwork and research projects. A key focus of this role is a study on Pacific children's access to and use of paediatric palliative care in Aotearoa New Zealand. This research will identify challenges and enablers, providing evidence to enhance healthcare policies and guidelines for Pacific communities.

This is a fixed-term position for 12 months based in Wellington, with a salary range of $48,596 - $71,027, depending on skills and experience.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting the promotion and implementation of Pacific health research Assisting with the recruitment of Pacific children and caregivers receiving palliative care Conducting interviews and administering questionnaires with research participants Supporting data collection and processing Assisting with Pacific-focused health initiatives led by Dr. Sunia Foliaki at Massey University

What we are looking for:

Strong organisational skills and experience in data collection and processing Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel Excellent oral and written communication skills Self-motivation and the ability to work independently Ability to engage effectively with Pacific communities and diverse groups A passion for health and research Flexibility to work early evenings and weekends when required A clean, current New Zealand driver's licence is essential A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is preferred An ability to communicate in a Pacific language would be an advantage.

Introduction

The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for faculty positions in Psychology at the levels of instructor and assistant/associate professor. The area of specialization is open but applicants with proven expertise in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or Cross-Cultural Psychology are encouraged to apply. The Psychology Program

The psychology program which is part of the Department of Cognitive Sciences at UAEU is dynamic and diverse, with excellent research facilities. The program has recently expanded the number of course offerings to students and we seek a collegial and talented colleague to bring the enhanced program to fruition. Research strengths of the program include neuroscience, cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, school psychology and psychometric assessment.

The University

The UAEU is located in Al Ain city (Emirate of Abu Dhabi), on the border with Oman and about 1.5 hours’ drive from the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The UAEU offers an attractive tax-free salary, free housing, medical insurance, and annual return airfares to the country of origin for expatriate employees and their immediate families. Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s and a relevant doctoral degree in psychology from an internationally reputable university.

Applicants must have earned a minimum master’s degree in psychology from an internationally reputable university.

Applicants at all levels must have (a) a proven track record of research publications in accredited peer-reviewed scientific journals commensurate with career stage and (b) a proven record of effective teaching experience at undergraduate level.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants who (1) have completed recognized professional development courses in the provision of third level education and (2) relevant practical experience in the fields of clinical psychology (leading to licensure), developmental psychology, or cross-cultural Psychology.

Job description key points:

The position is focused on both teaching and research. The candidates are expected to carry out research of excellent quality in areas close to computer networks and/or?cybersecurity. They should be provably capable of successfully applying for research grant projects. The candidates should be able to prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials in courses from both computer networks and cybersecurity at the bachelor as well as master level within the study programs of the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University (FI MU):?https://www.fi.muni.cz/catalogue-current/?all=1&lang=en. They should be willing and capable of taking full responsibility of some of such courses. The candidates should also show a?large amount of flexibility in teaching subjects that are not directly related to their particular areas of research. The successful candidate must have:


	PhD in computer science;

Applications are sought for position of Post-doctoral Researcher to conduct research within the Allergy, Inflammation & Remodelling Research (AIRR) Laboratory of Dr Joanne Masterson. The successful candidate will join a programme of research investigating novel mechanisms of disease exploring the intersection of mucosal immunobiology and epithelial developmental biology, specifically related to epithelial cellular reprogramming within inflammatory microenvironments and tissue regeneration.

This post is funded by the financial support of Research Ireland (Taighde Eireann). Research in the AIRR lab aims to explore mechanisms of disease combining molecular, cellular and whole organism approaches, bridging our knowledge of developmental and environmental signals that may regulate epithelial progenitor cell status, morphogenetic programming and function, and how these processes relate to pathophysiology in allergic diseases, for example the emerging chronic esophageal disease Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE).

The research will combine state-of-the-art approaches in molecular biology, gene engineering, biochemistry, cell biology, transcriptomics, immune signalling, mouse models and patient specimens with the aim of defining novel therapeutic targets.
