Skills and Qualifications

The applicant must have:


	Ph.D. degree in the field of inorganic chemistry or related fields
	Previous international experience – Ph.D. study or long-term postdoctoral fellowship (minimum 2 years) at internationally recognized institutions
	Proven record of scientific work, publication outputs, and scientific presentations
	Capability of establishing and leading a?research group in the field of inorganic chemistry
	Successful grant history
	Experience in teaching and supervising students in the field of inorganic chemistry or relevant fields
	Good knowledge of the Czech and English languages (spoken and written)

You will engage with students and staff across the University of Waikato to enhance the quality of teaching and learning through innovation and change. This is a unique opportunity working within a multi-disciplinary centre that encompasses a large and varied scope across our multifaceted organisation.

You will be comfortable managing complex portfolios, high-performing teams, and time-constrained priorities, as this role has it all. From professional development design, implementation, and delivery to programme expansion, you will explore new ideas to combat the current challenges of the tertiary education landscape.

As a strategic leader, you will be passionate about developing and designing the curriculum for domestic and international partnerships and research opportunities aligned with the University's strategy. Using your experience in tertiary education, you will lead curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment design, including learning and teaching technologies (artificial intelligence), which encompasses research projects in the scholarship of learning and teaching.

Drawing on your previous experience in an educational management role, you will have an understanding of Kaupapa Māori and Pacific pedagogies, recognize the varied needs of students (learner styles and analytics), and ensure that students and staff develop their professional and academic English language skills.

We are looking for someone who holds a PhD in a relevant field, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

The School of Natural Sciences is looking to appoint a Level A (Associate Lecturer) Teaching and Research Academic in the field of Evolutionary and Developmental Biology. This is a 4-year fixed-term position (replacing staff on secondment) aimed at growing and strengthening research in these fields.

Key strengths of the School of Natural Sciences include access to a world class wildlife research facility, allowing for the use of Australian wildlife models for investigating key questions in evolutionary and developmental biology, as well as world class multi-omics, molecular biology, and tissue culture facilities in modern purpose-built research laboratories.

The successful applicant will also help to train the next generation of biological and biomedical scientists through undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision, with ample opportunities to build their career as a balanced academic. The School is particularly interested in researchers with a capacity for and interest in teaching into the field of evolutionary medicine. Courses relevant to this position include the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medical Science.

	A PhD in Evolutionary Biology or a closely related discipline in the biological sciences
	Demonstrated track record of research excellence in developmental and evolutionary biology as evidenced by high quality publications, awards, fellowships, and/or competitive grant funding
	Demonstrated capacity to use cutting edge techniques in developmental biology and genomics, such as single cell transcriptomics or pan-genomics

About School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

Our school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Industrial Design, Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering, integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical training. About the role

We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to join our team as a Associate Professor in Industrial Design. This pivotal role involves leading all Industrial Design programs, fostering research and teaching connections with Architecture, and promoting multi-disciplinary collaboration across the school, including Construction Management, Engineering, and Urban Transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Architecture and Design and the DAP of Architecture and Industrial Design to enhance the program’s positioning, attract key staff and students, and drive the growth of Industrial Design research. The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Design or a related field, coupled with outstanding professional experience and highly regarded research in industrial and/or multi-disciplinary design fields. They will be an accomplished Industrial Designer with significant global achievements and a proven track record of providing professional leadership and advice. Experience in leading curriculum accreditation with relevant professional bodies is essential. The candidate will demonstrate leadership and innovation in contemporary curriculum design, development, delivery, and assessment, with evidence of teaching quality and successful supervision of Masters and PhD candidates.
