About the Role

The Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation will deliver high-quality clinical education, with a focus on teaching clinical skills and knowledge through clinical simulation and interprofessional curriculum development within the South Australian Rural Medical (SARM) Program. This role will contribute to the advancement of teaching excellence by developing and implementing innovative teaching practices and technologies.

The incumbent will be responsible for making an independent contribution to both teaching and the scholarship of teaching, ensuring the integration of best practices in educational delivery. Additionally, the Lecturer will foster strong relationships with rural and Indigenous communities, allied health professionals, and other relevant practice staff to support student recruitment and sustain effective rural clinical education programs.

While stationed predominantly at our Nuriootpa campus, at times, this position will also work collaboratively with academics, clinicians and professional staff across our rural campuses.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience and standing in Health
	Relevant and contemporary clinical experience in a relevant field
	Proven excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level, inclusive of simulation and/or clinical setting
	Evidence of an independent contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies both in the classroom and in clinical education, including student assessment
	Understanding of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities
	Demonstrated understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research and scholarship.

Are you fascinated by large-scale international aircraft field experiments addressing urgent environmental challenges such as climate change? Your personal sphere of play:

As a university assistant (Post-doc) in this 6-year position, you will be part of the Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics Group around Professor Bernadett Weinzierl.

The Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics (AEP) Group at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna combines highly-sophisticated laboratory, ground-based and aircraft experiments with innovative modelling to study the fundamental physical and chemical properties of aerosol particles and clouds. Current research focuses on related but different areas of aerosol science and covers the whole size spectrum from the nano- to the microscale. We are looking for a motivated Post-doc to extend our team.?

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	You will be involved in unique ground-based and airborne research projects in which we collaborate with top scientific institutions such as NASA and NOAA.?
	You will be in the field for large-scale aircraft measurement campaigns (typically several weeks per year) that only a few groups in the world carry out.
	You will contribute to the setup and operation of upcoming ACTRIS National Facility for aerosol in-situ at the University of Vienna.
	Your research will focus on microphysical aerosol properties, and on the detection of airborne microplastics.
	You will perform laboratory characterization of new instruments for ground-based and airborne application.
	You will analyze and interpret data from the urban background Aerosol Observatory at the University of Vienna, and from past and upcoming ground- and airborne field experiments.
	You will continuously stay informed about the state of the art in your field, and develop and strengthen an independent research profile.
	You will contribute to outreach by publications, conference presentations and public activities.
	You will contribute to the success and self-organization of the group for research, and help with some administrative tasks.
	You will contribute to project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding.
	You will independently teach courses as defined by the collective agreement, and (co-)supervise students.


This is part of your personality:


	You have completed your PhD degree or Diploma in physics, and/or aerosol related topics such as atmospheric sciences, aerosol chemistry or meteorology.
	Knowledge in experimental physics and field work, ideally in aerosol physics and/or atmospheric physics, including measurements of aerosol microphysical properties.
	Very good programming skills (including Python and/or Igor).
	Experience with airborne field measurements.
	Willingness to travel (typically several weeks per field experiment abroad).
	Physical conditions for participating in research flights.
	Driver's license is considered an asset.
	Experience with measurement techniques for aerosol microphysical properties is considered an asset.
	Experience in teaching aerosol physics-related classes is considered an asset.
	Experience with the acquisition of third-party funding is considered an asset.

About the job

For a position as a PhD Candidate, the goal is a completed doctoral education up to an obtained doctoral degree.

We have an open PhD position in multi-scale modeling and simulations of polymer and antiferromagnet (AFM) composites for spintronics at the Department of Manufacturing and Civil Engineering, NTNU.

Spintronics, which manipulates the magnetization of AFMs, offers ultrafast THz spin dynamics and picosecond switching speeds. The absence of stray magnetic fields in AFMs allows for higher bit densities and increased storage capacities, making them ideal for next-generation memory devices. AFMs are also energy-efficient, reducing power consumption while maintaining high processing speeds, which is advantageous for chip design. AFM-based components like interconnects, oscillators, transistors, and logic gates promise improved performance in integrated circuits using electron spin without creating disruptive magnetic fields.

This PhD project will focus on the integration of polymers with AFM materials using a multi-scale modeling framework to explore new possibilities in spintronic applications.

The candidate will report to the Head of Department.

Duties of the position


	Implement multi-scale modeling for polymer and AFM composites using software tools such as VASP, Quantum ESPRESSO, VAMPIRE, and MuMax3.
	Conduct simulations to optimize the composite’s magnetic properties.


Required selection criteria

The primary objective of the PhD position is to prepare candidates for research roles. To qualify, applicants must hold a master’s degree or equivalent (120 credits) in materials science, physics, or a related field, with a strong academic background in computational materials science. A grade of B or higher on?NTNU’s grading scale?is required. If letter grades are not available, an equivalent academic foundation must be demonstrated. Candidates may still be considered if they can document exceptional suitability for PhD studies.?To be considered, applicants must have:


	A master’s degree in materials science, physics or related field, specializing in computational materials science, with a grade of B or better?in terms of?NTNU’s grading scale.
	Strong experience in computational material design.

Salary and conditions

As a PhD candidate (code 1017) you are normally paid from gross NOK 532?200 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The period of employment is 3 years.

Appointment to a PhD position requires that you are admitted to the PhD programme in Engineering (https://www.ntnu.edu/studies/phiv) within three months of employment, and that you participate in an organized PhD programme during the employment period.

The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning?State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology.
