Shokei Gakuin University is a private university, located in the city of Natori, Japan.
The undergraduate school consists of three colleges: humanities and social studies; psychology and education; and human health and nutrition. The university¡¯s graduate school offers three master's courses: psychology, humanics and nutritional sciences.
The university¡¯s graduates have gone on to pursue careers in education, real estate, extraction works, and telecommunications, to name but a few.
Shokei Gakuin University works with the community to follow the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through several projects. Past projects include: the Rinku nature-based education forest, an environmental radiation training seminar in Litate Village, and facilitating the relocation of residents in Iwanuma City.
Natori is home to many multinational companies and their factories, with the Nikon Camera Factory and Sapporo Brewery located there.
There is a wealth of culture and heritage on offer for students in Natori, for example the Natori Summer Festival, which is held in August every year. The city comes together to celebrate with fireworks and traditional Japanese foods. Other festivals include the Sapporo Beer Festival and Donto-Sai Festival, which is held in winter. Students can also delve into the city¡¯s heritage by visiting the Nakazawa Family Estate, which has been designated a National Treasure since its construction in the late 18th century.
