Sojo University is a private university found in Nishi-ku, Kumamoto, Japan. The original school was founded in 1949 and became Sojo University in 2000.
The university is made up if five faculties: pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology and life sciences, engineering, computer and information sciences and art.
In 2001 the university opened its Japanese course for international students and in 2004 the graduate school of art was set up with divisions in fine art, design and applied life science.
Sojo International Centre helps support overseas study, training, admission and living support for international students. Support includes residential information, housing, scholarships, emergency help and securing a job.
The SOJO Ventures Startup Lab to support student entrepreneurs with their business ideas.
