Sokoine University of Agriculture is a public university based in Morogoro, Tanzania, and specialises in agricultural programmes across land management, animal sciences, and natural resources and tourism.
Established in 1984, Sokoine University is located at the slopes of the Uluguru Mountains. Its main campus is located near the centre of the Morogoro Municipality, with other campuses including Solomon Mahlangu, SUA Training Forest in the Arusha region, and Mazumbai Forestry Reserve.
With over 30 bachelor degree programmes, prospective students can choose from a wide range of courses which include: agriculture investment and banking, agronomy, human nutrition, education, tourism management, and veterinary medicine.
Sokoine University has games and sports with facilities for netball, football, basketball, tennis, and more. Although the university is a non-religious institution, it provides a number of chaplaincies and mosques at its main campus and Solomon Mahlangu campus.
